No, Conservatism Is Not Individualism

Conservatism faces the most risk not from the other side, but from its own incompetence. Specifically, public conservatives in democracy edit the message to fit the audience, and in doing so, change it into a sad and lonely form of Leftism which collapses from internal contradictions.

This includes National Socialism and Fascism as well as the constant example of neoconservatives (RINOs, cucks, neoliberals, Buckleyites, fiscal conservatives). They fear to say what they want, so instead they opt for the “pragmatic” compromise with the existing system.

This compromise means that we cannot address the “national question,” but we can talk about how important legal immigration is. We cannot mention that diversity destroys every nation it encounters, but we can talk about how the GOP is colorblind.

Naturally, this dooms any serious message and relegates conservatives to fighting abortion while they praise Jesus and free markets. Not surprisingly, other than Reagan and Trump, they have not achieved much in the past century or two.

Conservatives of this nature want you to be “Christian libertarians” like they are, meaning that you support free markets, think Christianity is the root of Western Civilization, and that by getting back to Christian values, we can save ourselves. Also adopt a Chinese baby, they’re adorable.

They talk about how the Left originates in collectivism, but the root of conservatism is “individualism.” On this point — like just about all others — they seem to be missing the forest for the trees.

Conservatism aims to conserve the best of humanity and nature. This means that it aims not for the past, but for what works in all ages, which requires that it look on a qualitative level for what produces the best experience, not just a realistic reaction to the present day and its precedents.

That means that instead of aiming for individualism or collectivism, conservatism aims at natural order, or a patterning of life like that found in nature and the divine that produces the best results since it mirrors the operation of our reality.

Trying to make conservatism into individualism appeals to the dummy audiences because it legitimizes their selfishness and makes them feel noble for it, much like Leftist altruism legitimizes theft. This is prole thinking and leads nowhere but to ruin.

An actual conservative conserves civilization; they attempt to get us to an order which works really well, as opposed to what most people will choose, since people think in the short-term and with a focus on their personal material desires instead of how to make a thriving society.

Look at what the aristocrats did. No utilitarian buildings; just lovely cities, where people were polite and gentle, with culture that emphasized works which could last for aeons, instead of what “the people” want which is songs about sex and drinking in the moment.

Conservatism aims to restrain human individualism, not promote it, and recognizes that collectivism is just individualists (or more accurately: solipsists) in groups, demanding that humans push aside reality and care only about what their social group thinks.

It makes no sense to trust what the mainstream Right or Leftists say about conservatism. They want to control it, and through controlling it, influence your thinking and make you obey their bottom line, which is a society dedicated toward enforcing human equality so we can be controlled as a mass.

Actual conservatism offers a breath of hope. Instead of trying to save humanity, it simply rewards the good ones, kicks out the bad, and lets nature deal with the rest, enforcing not control but adherence to reality by rewarding realistic and good behavior instead of popular illusion.
