The bourgeois mentality holds that society is like a paid service. You pay taxes and it maintains itself so you can keep pursuing your own individualistic needs, since individualism is the most socially popular idea therefore, brings you customers and clients.
On the other hand, history shows us an important fact above all else: the narrative line bends, twists, and sometimes reverses. In fact, it is following an agenda which is not human, but is based in what functions logically, including economics and biology.
This tells us that there is no single method which wins in all of history. The only thing that wins is having a goal and picking whatever methods achieve it at the time; this is the “case-by-case basis” inherent to conservatism.
Right now, many people are making good money by repeating 1968 dogma as true.
If you read The Sun Also Rises, you will see that 1968 dogma was in fact 1920s dogma. Look further and it is Late Victorian edgy contrarianism. Dig further, and even back to the middle ages there were proto-Bohemians advocating foreign ideas, casual sex, drunkenness, and “peace” or “love” instead of solid policy.
These people rule because as societies grow, they depend on having lots of little droids — wagies, slaves, serfs, conscripts — to do specific tasks, order by the micro-managers above them. Any task where you answer to people instead of results in nature is a “job.”
Since the 1950s, you got rewarded for bleating the counterculture. Why? It appealed to the new Americans, who at the time were the SEMI people. We won the world war, and so the only way to stand out was by being an ironist contrarian.
Once that worked for one generation, every successive generation until Generation X did the same thing: repeat the West Side Story and hippie narrative, throw in some Bohemian and hipster, and basically say you are with The People against civilization.
Being opposed to civilization is easy and popular because most people lack purpose and therefore, achieve nothing, which leads them to want to find a scapegoat. If they cannot blame The Rich or The Jews,™ they have to blame civilization itself or nature, maybe the gods.
This viewpoint of ironist contrarianism has been building for a long time. Each time society improves anything, some are left behind, and the malcontents, misfits, dropouts, gangsters, priests, and unionists form a little gang that then takes over.
They can finally admit that they want Communism. This is no longer taboo because when there are enough of them, they are a market in themselves, and so industry supports them. The capitalist will sell you the rope you will use to hang him.
We can see this as a kind of inertia. History arcs, bends, and twists but most people rely on programming from the past and keep going the same way they have been. This means they get further and further from reality as time goes on.
Societies go through a realism-symbolism realignment where at first realism matters, but soon, how well you “go along to get along” with others matters more than how realistic you are. Jobs, democracy, bureaucracy, and oversocialization are all parts of this.
For decades in our society, symbolism has mattered more than reality. The starving poor! The noble savage! The righteous victim! The suffering minorities. The beaten women. The marginalized groups. Make the sad symbols happy and you win.
You make sad symbols happy by pretending that you have simple solutions. For example, if someone is poor… give them money. If someone is starving, give them food. If someone is marginalized, make their group more important.
In this we can see the hand of the kindergarten teacher who just wants “everyone to get along” as well as the middle manager who likes to look out and see people busy and happy, not disturbing symbolic imagery like fistfights or sleeping workers.
Socializing is inherently egalitarian. For everyone to get along, you must take in input from everyone equally, and therefore never make a decision. Just compromise until you get to the point where everyone gets bored. It is animal dynamics, not logical thinking!
Our society built itself around socializing because it no longer had a purpose. The founders come in and make something great, but then other people show up (or are produced through gene drift) who just want jobs and to be equal members so they can get their share.
Built by strength, it has taken it years to weaken, but when it did, it became a multi-century trend of emphasizing civil rights, equality, liberty, patriotism, dualistic gods, and other emotional symbolism that has nothing to do with reality.
It survived for the same reason a bad business does: it is huge. When you have a lot of people in the same nation, and they are all repeating the same notions, they will do your bidding until it blatantly fails, like losing a war or having an economic crash.
In fact, some argue that every time there is an economic crash, whether we recognize it or not we get a new type of government. In the 1930s we got Keynesian socialists, after 1987 we got the Bush “NWO” years, and then after 2007 we suffered the 0’Bama years.
Each of those are substantially different types of government. Reagan of course came into being after crazy Jimmy Carter crashed the economy with idealistic regulations and weak international politics. That too was a different type of government.
Nonetheless, the basic form of this political system remains, which is the notion that whatever illusion pleases the majority will get elected. This has produced a slow and steady drive toward emotional symbolism and consequent almost total rejection of reality.
People in groups, with their bellies full and no wolves threatening them, do not want to hear about hard realities; they want to hear about fanciful notions, religious salvation, peace on Earth, and other stuff to manage their own psychological state, not deal with outcomes in reality.
The essence of Crowdism is the human tendency to cherry-pick reality for that which helps manage their mental state with false cheer, then use peer pressure to enforce this on others. “We have met the enemy and he is us” summarizes this process.
After years of having the enemy in charge, our society is inverted: everything is done in the opposite way to what a successful, sane, and healthy society would do.
The changes that are coming seem like they are huge, but that is only because of the contrast. Everything has been insane for so long that any sanity feels like some type of alien time travel.
We have been ruled by morons manipulating each other with mentally-soothing lies for so long that not only is finding accurate information difficult, but we might not even recognize it because it is so foreign to our recent history.
Even worse, with its ever-accelerated pretense and taboo, our society has completely filtered out the competent. Political correctness has ensured that the only people who will tell you something other than lies are unemployable in public life and not socially acceptable.
A hard reset is coming. It is inevitable because of the debt load, declining agricultural yields, overpopulation, the urban heat island effect, the declining quality of our abilities, the failure of industry, and the inherent instability of diversity. This process cannot be stopped now.
The media will not show you how much the average American has changed his mind. Five years ago he thought diversity was his strength, the WW2 through civil rights period was the best in American history, social programs that helped the poor were good, and that he wanted Europe to like America more.
Now, he realizes that Europe is so badly run that anything they approve of is probably literal death, diversity is civilizational erasure, civil rights are White Genocide, the welfare state is pure theft and fraud, and that we are headed toward Regime Change.
We are awakening from a time where we approved whatever was popular. Now we realize that this was just con men saying things that morons believed because it temporarily drove away their fear of being insignificant and purposeless.
We used to believe in democracy. But under democracy, the ship ended up broken to bits on the rocks, it seems.
The easy days are over. All of those labor-saving devices from the past century have become irrelevant because we either discovered that they were actually toxic or they have become too expensive or difficult to manufacture.
With over eight billion people on the planet, and food and water supplies dwindling, we are clearly headed toward a crash of the old system, which is tied up with too many precedents and contradictions to do much anyway.
It used to be that we feared such a thing. Now we recognize that it is not only inevitable, but necessary for us to survive the collapsing remnants of what came before as they fall.
