New Tammany Hall (the “Deep State”) Reveals its Center of Power

Matt Gaetz got Kavanaughed; that is, sexual assault allegations of a dubious nature emerged murkily and brought down at least part of his career. Since these allegations are dubious because they consist solely of witness testimony, and that is only reliable as the first dozen Christine Blasey-Fords that XOG dries out and trots into the forum, it is hard to take them seriously.

However, the Deep State — a continuation of Tammany Hall, which was not conquered by FDR but taken over by him and his party and has for the most part run the USA ever since — showed us its center of power: the Department of Justice, which the Clintons took over back in the 1990s in order to keep whatever happened to TWA 800 under wraps.

After all, the DOJ determines who goes to jail and who does not. If you work for Tammany Hall, you will either not face charges, have charges dismissed, have the case against you sabotaged, or be allowed to plead down to some lesser offense instead of going to jail for stealing absurd amounts of money through kickbacks and honoraria.

This is their nexus of control, and by “them” we mean the permanent bureaucracy, or people who get paid to administrate the ever-growing government dedicated to civil rights and free stuff. This is how you know who is in the deep state: they support entitlements like social security, welfare, medicare, public schooling, and so on.

Lots of Republicans work for the Deep State. They do it because to people in government, government is a career. You get along with your coworkers and follow the established process, and you can advance to the point of being rich and famous with a hottie for a wife. In deracinated cultureless democracy, that counts as winning.

These people are “winners” only in the system. They do well at education, jobs, and following processes. That is what bureaucracy is: the rule of means-over-ends, that is, goalless following of processes and procedures. Do they care if it turns out well? No, because their goal is to make enough so that when it turns out badly they will be okay.

Did Matt Gaetz do what they said he did? It does not matter, because they opposed him for other reasons. Getting a firebrand into the DOJ would threaten the careers of all of those Clinton loyalists, and that would rip the core out of the Deep State and force America to have the government do-over it badly needs.
