A brief meditation on people with problems: in life, you find many people who for lack of a better word, are jerks. They are driven by conflict, play the victim and bully at the same time, and view their personal demands as more important than social, natural, or divine order.
We could call them “individualists,” and that explains their philosophy, so they are a subset of that group, but more accurately, they are individualists who prefer chaos to order, discord to peace, insanity to sanity, and so on, because it serves their need to feel power.
These are not just individualists, but people who feel a sense of victimhood and retaliation as a constant driver for their personalities, which is why they like to introduce conflict. Their addiction requires the next “hit” in the form of someone else to rage against while feeling self-pity.
It is not a good psychology, and they are probably to be viewed as sad cases, but they also create massive amounts of collateral damage, both psychological and physical. If society were to remove these jerks, everyday life would be less embittered.
The agenda of the jerks seems to be the opposite, namely making everyone as bitter as they are. They have acclimated to discontent and misery, and therefore thrive on those, sort of like how parasitic organisms can only live off the energy of others.
Jerks spread this disorder to others if not removed from society. In every interaction, they want to come out ahead by their own metric, which is unrelated to what is good for civilization, others, nature, or even logic. This makes them toxic people.
Unfortunately, what committees, social groups, and governments do is to give in to jerks and pacify them with special accommodations and subsidies. This empowers the jerks, who instead of being bought off, double down and demand more.
Amazingly, the decay of human civilizations may begin with tolerance for mundane bad behavior.
