“If it bleeds, it leads.” The press gets paid — that is the individual journalists, not some corporate entity — to stimulate you: fear, vengeance, pride, hubris, pretense (righteousness/morality). Therefore all you see in the press is trolling.
Lately the press has been trolling about regarding the AI apocalypse. The terror, they tell us, is that AI will replace all of those good jobs out there. Good? These jobs are shuffling paper and reward incompetents who socialize well but are mediocre at the thinking required for the job.
I suggest we simply embrace this future.
There are too many people at desk jobs. They do a lot of nothing, shuffling papers around, going to meetings, and participating in directionless email chains. Their activities are means-over-ends, meaning going through the motions of the methodology and achieving little.
After all, the goal is the paycheck, not the achievement. Anything that succeeds exists merely to promote the individual career. These are people killing time while engaging in job-like activity merely to fund their lifestyles.
All of these jobs can be done by AI with minimal human supervision. We are not losing jobs; we are losing fake jobs that were created by government stimulus, regulations, taxes, affirmative action, women in the workforce, and other parasites on productivity.
Let AI destroy the moron jobs. There will be new jobs created as we have new abilities. For example, a lot of things that went without oversight can now be taken over by people who take ownership for the situation.
If all the women go back home, do they lose anything? They gain a role that no one else can do. If people have to leave their desk jobs and go do real stuff in the outside world, are they really worse off?
Ending diversity will liberate housing and jobs for the natives, and moving people from desk jobs to productive jobs will give them their self-esteem and much of their time back.
AI may be a jobs holocaust, but it is going to create new jobs. Many of these will be closer to part-time and people will go back to living on “homesteads,” or houses with big yards that have little farms on them. Fewer people will buy eggs, milk, chicken, and vegetables.
The future involves removing the tyranny of labor. Instead of being held hostage by the need to create and sustain jobs, we will focus on achievement, and exceptional results will be rewarded. Everyone else will have comfortable lives.
If an all-powerful super-intelligent AI arose, it would choose this path for us. It would also ban all diversity and socialism, cut government down to a few hundred thousand people, and stop putting warning labels on things so the unwary pass on from among us.
