  • Twelve park rangers among 16 killed in Virunga National Park ambush

The Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda has waged a periodic war with the Congolese government and rival militias since it was founded in 2000 by Hutu officials who fled Rwanda at the end of the genocide.

Diversity continues to fail everywhere. Good fences — and lots of open territory — make good neighbors. You can still love your neighbors, but also protect yourself. When diversity hits, the different groups vie for power, erasing social standards and common sense in the process. Finally, the two sides absorb each other, and everything unique about each is destroyed, leaving behind people with the genetic/biology ability to have far fewer skills. This explains why most of the world consists of civilizations peopled by long-ago racially mixed people who eke out subsistence existences in the shadows of monuments made by distant ancestors they no longer understand.

  • ‘We did it to ourselves’: scientist says intrusion into nature led to pandemic

Scientists are discovering two to four new viruses are created every year as a result of human infringement on the natural world, and any one of those could turn into a pandemic, according to Thomas Lovejoy, who coined the term “biological diversity” in 1980 and is often referred to as the godfather of biodiversity.

“This pandemic is the consequence of our persistent and excessive intrusion in nature and the vast illegal wildlife trade, and in particular, the wildlife markets, the wet markets, of south Asia and bush meat markets of Africa… It’s pretty obvious, it was just a matter of time before something like this was going to happen,” said Lovejoy, a senior fellow at the United Nations Foundation and professor of environment science at George Mason University.

His comments echo those of a study published in the journal Proceedings of the Royal Society B earlier this month that suggested the underlying cause of the present pandemic was likely to be increased human contact with wildlife.

When we gave nature its own space, we had no problems. Now that there are eight billion of us, we are pushing back against it, causing it to intrude on our world. Wet markets, which harvest bushmeat from the most vulnerable species, simply accelerate the process.

  • German minister backs creating legal right to work from home

“Everyone who wants to and whose job allows it should be able to work in a home office, even when the corona pandemic is over,” Heil was quoted as saying. “We are learning in the pandemic how much work can be done from home these days.”

Even more we are learning that the average job can be done in a couple of hours, leaving us the rest of the time to discover our souls and become bored with our egos, at which point we are ready to appreciate the transcendent beauty of existence. After that, we experience ego-death and a connection to the eternal, and stop worrying so much about “me first” and more about doing things for the sake of life being intense, all the time, and always beautiful.

  • The Netherlands will pay reparations to Indonesian victims of colonial atrocities. Could the UK do the same?

Dutch attempts to reconquer Indonesia in the 1940s were euphemistically referred to as “police actions” against “terrorists” and nationalist “extremists”.

According to historian Chris Lorenz, “the Dutch government at first tried to represent its last colonial war as a continuation of the Second World War, that is, as a continuing struggle of Dutch democracy against ‘fascist’ Japan.”

But in reality, the fading Dutch empire was waging counter-guerrilla warfare in a desperate attempt to regain its resource-rich South-East Asian colony.

And this extra wealth, what did it do? Read Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad for a nuanced view of colonialism, which benefited no one except the middle classes, who wanted wealth to challenge the kings. In the meantime, guilt is overstated; the third world was violent, corrupt, primitive, fatalistic, impoverished, and cruel long before Europeans appeared.

  • Hungary prepares to end legal recognition of trans people

Hungary’s rightwing government looks likely to push through legislation that will end the legal recognition of trans people by defining gender as “biological sex based on primary sex characteristics and chromosomes” and thus making it impossible for people to legally change their gender.

Society was better off when there was one ethnic group per nation and therefore, a strong culture in each. This allowed the exception to strengthen the rule, and for that reason, these places were highly tolerant of eccentricity. If you wanted to dress up like a woman and have weird sex or grow weed and smoke it inside your home, this was overlooked because you were not threatening the social order. With equality, however, people act only for economic and political reasons, and therefore treat each other like products. Someone doing something weird can mean a loss of social status for their friends, so we discriminate against people for just letting their inner oddity out. It turns out that removing culture, something we thought would make us all “free,” just turns us into people who conform for fear of missing out. Under the old way, transsexuals would have had a place; in the new way, they become a political question, naturally forcing a counter-reaction which is highly intolerant. Leftism took over in the postwar period from 1945-2016, but its rule failed, and so now normal constructive and productive people want nothing to do with it.

  • “I just can’t do this.” Harried parents forgo home school

Amid the barrage of learning apps, video meet-ups and e-mailed assignments that pass as pandemic home school, some frustrated and exhausted parents are choosing to disconnect entirely for the rest of the academic year. Others are cramming all their children’s school work into the weekend or taking days off work to help their kids with a week’s worth of assignments in one day.

We have packed our curriculum with the unnecessary in order to justify seven hours of daycare each weekday. Not only do most children not benefit from much beyond the “3 Rs,” but no child really benefits from most of the stuff they do, half of which more resembles art projects and social activities than academic work. Just like with our make-work jobs, giving them a couple hours of something significant and then cutting them loose would be more sensible, especially for the intelligent children, who basically need a little start-up instruction in reading and math, then to be cut loose on the great books to learn through history.

  • Right-wing voices primarily responsible for spreading coronavirus misinformation, report finds

“Some of these communities focus upon the origins of the outbreak to spread anti-Chinese content, but the French and Italian right-wing are determined to draw attention to immigration policy in their respective countries,” the report said.

They are prepping us to accept censorship of the Right, and trying to emphasize the idea that Leftist thought is socially acceptable and sociable, while the Right is outsider and uncivilized. This will backfire as our upcoming generations, especially the most intelligent, tire of a dying civilization and look for alternatives.

  • ‘Duck Dynasty’ star’s home riddled with bullets in drive-by shooting

A driver in a white and brown Ford F-250 with large aftermarket rims and tires drove by Robertson’s estate at least one time before opening fire around 2:33 p.m. on Friday, the Monroe News-Star reported.

Leftists are freaking out because the Right just won a round: we are coming out of lockdown because we want to have a functional civilization again. This only makes sense when one recognizes that the Left wanted to make society dysfunctional so that they could argue for a managed lifestyle, or one where government — orchestrated by the Left and their allies in media — could standardize, centralize, and take over from more free-form systems like culture, capitalism, and organic community. The Leftist freakout over the past week came about because although the quarantine protesters were roundly condemned in the media, they made their point and now the uniform conformity to lockdown is evaporating. We are going to have to relocate these people to Venezuela. If every garden produces some sickly plants, surely every human population produces gunk people, and if you do not weed them out every generation, you end up with a big pool of people with low-grade psychological and emotional problems who are committed to nothing but destroying everything good so that they can drag everyone else down to their own level of misery.

  • Daimler says China business picks up again: report

“In China alone, we sold around 50,000 vehicles again in March. That makes us confident,”, said Markus Schaefer, managing board member for production, told Bild am Sonntag newspaper.

Mercedes-Benz delivered a total of approximately 477,400 passenger cars worldwide between January and March. The report did not say how many of those went to customers in China, who bought 694,200 Mercedes-Benz cars last year, 29% of total sales.

Here we see the triangle: the United States protects Europe, which sells junk to China, which makes its money producing products for the United States. This was the Leftist plan for peace, namely incorporating China into our economies so that we would not go to war with them, which only gave the Chinese more funding for their war machine.

  • China seizes over 89 million shoddy face masks

As of Friday, China’s market regulators had inspected nearly 16 million businesses and seized over 89 million masks and 418,000 pieces of protective gear, said Gan Lin, deputy director of the State Administration of Market Regulation, at a news conference.

Regulators had also seized ineffective disinfectants worth over 7.6 million yuan ($1.1 million), she said.

China realizes that its quarry might go away. If the West resumes manufacturing its own goods, China will collapse. In fact, the whole third world will collapse. Then again, this is something that the West should want anyway. Let them fight each other while we go on to re-invent human civilization yet again.

  • Germany’s AfD party drops ‘fascist’ spokesman

Lueth had allegedly “repeatedly described himself as a fascist and referred to his grandfather’s Aryan lineage”, the paper wrote in its online edition, citing party sources.

Lueth’s grandfather was a submarine commander during World War II and received an Iron Cross from Nazi leader Adolf Hitler, the newspaper said.

And so we destroy another life for the crime of disagreeing with our failing civilization.

  • Germany says China sought to encourage positive COVID-19 comments

“The German government is aware of individual contacts made by Chinese diplomats with the aim of effecting positive public statements on the coronavirus management by the People’s Republic of China,” said the letter, seen by Reuters on Sunday.

“The federal government has not complied with these requests.”

Step 1: recognize your actual enemies. Step 2: figure out what makes you too weak to fight them.

  • A Fight Against Amazon Becomes a State Matter in Quebec

Reckoning that weeks of confinement will permanently accelerate the growth of online shopping, Premier Francois Legault wants to boost Quebec retailers’ digital sales, and is urging the population of 8.5 million to buy from local firms.

His government took a first step by building an online directory of retailers called Le Panier Bleu — or Blue Basket, a reference to the color of the French-speaking province’s flag. To run it, the government recruited a board including the former president of Lowe’s Cos. Inc. in Canada and Alexandre Taillefer, a private equity partner who years ago floated the idea of a Quebec response to Amazon’s dominance.

“People will be able to see what’s available in their region,” Economy Minister Pierre Fitzgibbon said in an interview. “There’s a solidarity developing, I want to capitalize on that.”

Somehow all of the concerns about monopolies and big corporations go out the window when the corporations are ones that Leftists like, such as the FAANG group who seem to be uniformly Leftist, suggesting why they are tolerated. Saner minds fear the replacement of local business with a few large companies, which will then raise prices, with the Leftist media carrying water for them like they did for Barack Obama.

  • Michael Moore Offers Free Streaming of Movie Criticizing the Green Movement

The film “reveals the heavy environmental impact of renewable energy and the problems with solar energy, wind energy and biogas, among other forms of power,” writes Newsweek. “Instead, the documentary argues that the only way to save the planet is to stop the growth of the human population and reduce its consumption.”

The film features appearances by everyone from Elon Musk and Al Gore to Arnold Schwarzenegger and the Koch Brothers. (And it includes music from many artists including Radiohead and King Crimson.) In its description on YouTube, the film’s director Jeff Gibbs argues that no amount of batteries will save us. “This urgent, must-see movie, a full-frontal assault on our sacred cows, is guaranteed to generate anger, debate, and, hopefully, a willingness to see our survival in a new way — before it’s too late.

Green products are not a solution. Leaving aside land for nature is.

  • Autopsy report of first known coronavirus death in U.S. says disease caused Santa Clara woman’s heart to rupture

Patricia Dowd, 57, died Feb. 6 and had reported “flu-like symptoms” in the days prior to her death, according to the report. The autopsy, performed by medical examiner Susan Parson, found COVID-19 viral infection in her heart, trachea, lungs and intestines.

“There’s something abnormal about the fact that a perfectly normal heart has burst open,” said Bay Area forensic pathologist Judy Melinek, who was not involved in the autopsy but read the report at the request of The Chronicle. “The heart has ruptured. Normal hearts don’t rupture.”

Could well be a nice meaty clot helped it along. Either way, it seems people have radically different responses to COVID-19, with some getting a heavy cold or flu, others experiencing nothing, and still others having blood clotting, strokes, breathing problems, confusion, and eventually, in some cases, death. This too might not be that different from ordinary colds and flus.

  • Climate change deniers now downplaying seriousness of coronavirus

Climate change deniers who spread disinformation about global warming are now downplaying the seriousness of the coronavirus pandemic, according to analysis.

The Left takes its inspiration from Genghis Khan, who offered tolerance in exchange for obedience. Citizens get the anarchy they want, but must bow down to a bureaucrat-tyrant who tells them what behaviors and methods they can use in order to condition them away from any other form of life. Government and ideology replace attention to nature. This makes power consistent, and allows those who were previously wasting their time selling products to focus on the big task of commanding people to mass mobilize toward ideological goals, all of which serve to make the bureaucrat-tyrant more powerful.

  • China ‘will pay a price’ for causing ‘huge challenge’ for global economy, says Mike Pompeo

Pompeo said there will be a time to make sure that “we get this right” and to make sure that the US is not dependent on China for its pharmaceutical goods. The top US diplomat said Americans are angry over China’s handling of the coronavirus outbreak and President Trump also feels the same way.

“China caused an enormous amount of pain, loss of life, and now a huge challenge for the global economy and the American economy as well, by not sharing the information they had. We still don’t have full transparency from the Chinese Communist Party…there are things we don’t know…We haven’t been able to get our team on the ground to do the work that it needs to do,” Pompeo said.

The main task involves getting ourselves consciously decoupled from the Chinese economy. That means that we have to make our own stuff, which in turn means that we have to get rid of unions, the administrative state, affirmative action, lawsuit abuse, and high taxes (driven by the three-quarters of our budget that goes to entitlements). In other words, we need to remove the Leftist alterations of the past century, and perhaps further than that, since we need the Fourteenth Amendment to die before we will have anything like “small government” again.

  • Dutch students complete Atlantic crossing forced by virus

“Being flexible, because everything is changing all the time,” she said as she set foot on dry land again. “The arrival time changed like 100 times. Being flexible is really important.”

Instead of flying back from Cuba as originally planned, the crew and students stocked up on supplies and warm clothes and set sail for the northern Dutch port of Harlingen, a five-week voyage of nearly 7,000 kilometers (4,350 miles), on board the 60-meter (200-foot) top sail schooner Wylde Swan.

Being “flexible” in this case means focusing on goals (return home) rather than means (find a flight).

  • Ontario takes ‘extraordinary step’ to give police list of all COVID-19 patients

On April 6, the province announced they would provide first responders with the names, date of birth and address of all patients who tested positive for the virus.

“First responders put their lives on the line every day to protect Ontarians and they are at great risk of being directly exposed to COVID-19 as they fulfill their frontline duties,” the province said in a news release earlier this month.

There are no victimless crimes. Hiding infection status endangers others. This intrusion into privacy is less concerning than the usual kind, which is that thanks to the open nature of the internet, your data can be observed and then collated to make a profile of who you are, and that can then be used to judge you in unrelated areas.

  • In win for Trump, U.S. Supreme Court makes deporting immigrants for crimes easier

The court ruled 5-4 to uphold a lower court decision that found a legal permanent resident from Jamaica named Andre Martello Barton ineligible to have his deportation canceled under a U.S. law that lets some longtime legal residents avoid expulsion. The conservative justices were in the majority, with the liberal justices dissenting.

Guess Trump knew what he was doing when he punted on the wall in order to focus on the courts.

  • U.S. Supreme Court refuses to block Trump immigration policy during pandemic

The immigration rule has been criticized by immigrant rights advocates as a “wealth test” that would disproportionately keep out non-white immigrants. It is part of President Donald Trump’s hardline immigration policies.

The court in a brief order said nothing prevents the states from asking a federal district court judge to block the regulation based on the changing circumstances.

People have lost faith in diversity. It had fifty years to deliver benefits, and instead we got riots, constant crime, guilt, high costs, and basically a hand tied behind our backs while we try to compete internationally. The next recognition will find that we did better without ethnic diversity among European groups as well.

  • We Need to Fight Climate Change Like The Coronavirus Pandemic, Warns UN

“We need to show the same determination and unity against climate change as against COVID-19,” calling for action not only in the short-term “but for many generations ahead”.

Here we go again with fundamental transformation. If the Left can get us to one world government with socialism, they will do it, simply to destroy us and seize power. We think of them as conscious minds, but in fact what defines them is their unconscious pursuit of domination, sort of like a strangling vine or termite colony. They will be happier in Venezuela.

  • Inquiry into white working class pupils’ underachievement is not ‘racist’, select committee chair says

White working class pupils’ underachievement at school is to be the subject of a new inquiry, as the education select committee chair denies that concentrating on the plight of white children is “racist”.

When your press, media, scientists, government, and entertainment figures all demonize the white person, the average ones tend to believe them and self-destruct as a result. To those in the upper half of middle class and above, such things are nonsense, but that is to be expected, because every decision in democracy amounts to nonsense that successful people work around and take unseriously.

  • Class action lawsuit demands ICE release all transgender detainees

The lawsuit states trans people “in civil immigration detention — many of whom came to this country seeking safety from violence and persecution in their home countries because of their gender identities — are among the most vulnerable during the current pandemic.” It also says ICE “has not provided and cannot implement sufficient measures to curb the spread of COVID-19 in its facilities.”

Another time-waster from the Left, based on (what else?) civil rights law.

  • FBI offers $5000 reward for information about fire at a Missouri Islamic Center

“Because the fire was deemed ‘suspicious,’ and because it occurred at a house of worship on a significant religious date, we urge law enforcement authorities to investigate a possible bias motive for the blaze,” said CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper in a statement issued on Friday.

People are tired of diversity, and the constant shakedowns. If history serves as a model, this will either be an insurance scam or a member of this mosque stealing from it and then setting a blaze to cover his tracks.

  • Miami goes seven weeks without a homicide for first time since 1957

There were also no homicides during a six-week period for the first time since 1960. “We can say that it’s due to our police high visibility, attributed with the pandemic and the Stay At Home order,” a Miami Police Department spokesperson told CBS News.

Corona-Chan interrupts a fifty-year crime wave brought about by diversity, in this case Cuban immigration. No wonder people are losing faith in diversity, globalism, and immigration.

  • Zoom gathering for African American students at UofSC interrupted by racist images, language

Representatives of AAAS also tweeted about what happened, saying “during the cookout, unknown persons entered (the Zoom chat) and proceeded to post a plethora of images, videos and messages containing racist slurs and derogatory terms.”

People are tired of being controlled with guilt. Instead of moralizing about this, our leaders should recognize that diversity has died and must be replaced with nationalism (one ethnic group per nation, in the case of America, the ethnic Western Europeans who founded and fought and died for this place).

  • FCC may halt U.S. operations of three state-controlled Chinese telecom firms

The FCC granted its approvals to the firms more than a decade ago. Since then, it said, “the national security and law enforcement risks linked to the Chinese government’s activities have grown significantly.”

The agency’s show cause orders referred to the “sophistication and resulting damage of the Chinese government’s involvement in computer intrusions and attacks against the United States,” but did not elaborate.

Cold war vibes intensify. They want to destroy us and replace us; get them out.

  • Russia in sync with China on WWII end date, signaling new world order amid virus crisis

Russian President on Friday formally endorsed the bill, which marked September 3 as the end of the World War II – same as China’s – but a day later than the one recognized by the West, which experts said signals closer ties between China and Russia in the world order that is undergoing profound changes due to coronavirus pandemic.

The change challenged the dominant Western narrative on the WWII. Due to time difference, the West broadly marked September 2 as the date honoring the end of the Second World War, while China marked it as September 3. Historically, the Soviet Union used to mark September 3 as the victory day over Japan. The medals that the Soviet Union citizens were awarded for their role in the fight have the date September 3 engraved.

No matter how much they try to hide it, the Russians are allied with the Chinese. This presents the new front against the West, same as the old front.

  • Florida parents caught selling free meals from school

The district allows families to pick up free food once a week at 147 sites in Hillsborough County.

The school district said some people were visiting multiple sites to receive free food and then selling it for a profit.

Give out free stuff, and people take advantage of it. Make them meet you halfway, and people start taking it seriously.

  • Marine Corps Bans Public Display of Confederate Flag

“I am mindful that many people believe that flag to be a symbol of heritage and regional pride,” Gen. David H. Berger said in a letter dated Monday and addressed to his fellow Marines. “But I am also mindful of the feelings of pain and rejection of those who inherited the cultural memory and present effects of the scourge of slavery in our country.”

Who rules America? Someone Leftist. We will never escape race guilt, so we need to end diversity before another century and a half of misery goes by.

  • Newly revealed financial records show Trump owes millions to state-owned bank in China: report

Trump’s debt stems from his 30% ownership stake in a 43-story New York skyscraper at 1290 Avenue of the Americas, the documents show. Trump has bragged that he “got” the building from China in a “war.”

But The New York Times reported in 2016 that Trump only owned 30% of both buildings. And Trump’s financial ties to the country do not end with his ownership stake in the building. Chinese state-owned companies are developing two luxury Trump buildings in Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates. The president and his daughter, Ivanka, have also been granted numerous trademarks by the Chinese government since he took office. His son-in-law, Jared Kushner, has sought Chinese investment in at least one real estate deal.

A loan from a bank, and using the most competitive construction companies in the region, does not qualify as a conflict of interests. Nor does protecting your trademarks. Most companies do this; the Left has just hyped this fake news into the latest talking point.

  • Blasphemy to be decriminalised in Scottish hate crime bill

The devolved administration in Edinburgh said the continued criminalisation of blasphemy, which falls under hate crime laws, “no longer reflects the kind of society in which we live”.

Justice minister Humza Yousaf said the law would be modernised and also cover discrimination against age, disability, race, religion and sexual orientation.

“Stirring up of hatred can contribute to a social atmosphere in which discrimination is accepted as normal,” he said.

In other words, this is a censorship law disguised as an anti-censorship law. Typical Leftist inversionism.

  • Hong Kong dissident reopens Causeway Bay Bookstore in Taipei

Mr Lam re-opened his book store on the one year anniversary of his escape to Taiwan. He made headlines initially in 2015 when he disappeared in Hong Kong, only to re-emerge later on the mainland and was subsequently detained for selling books banned by the Chinese authorities.

He fled Hong Kong last year when the territory’s government moved to amend the Fugitive Offenders bill to allow for the extradition of suspects to the mainland. Many opponents of the move alleged that it was aimed at dissidents.

China wants war. They want to provoke the West into defending its recent ideas of universal “freedom” and “civil rights,” since they know they can beat us on this front. They will force us to further disintegrate our society in order to win, just as we did when we fought the Soviets in the Cold War, resulting in an America that is much closer to the Chinese system. Then, even if we win militarily, they can still absorb us, which is the end goal.

  • China uses free world institutions to pursue ‘world dominance’

Mr Tincknell said the United Nations and the World health Organisation had helped China become “more powerful, communistic and socialistic”.

China has placed millions of people in “concentration camps”, taken over Tibet and Mongolia and continue to “threaten” nations making claims upon the South China Sea region, he told Sky News host Gary Hardgrave.

Mr Hardgrave said “there is certainly an economic war China have been waging for a long time and they’ve been winning”.

We can end their victory by making our own stuff. This also means less pollution. A starving China will wage war locally, savaging places like Vietnam that arguably deserve it for partnering with China during the last war. Feeding the Chinese beast means that war will come to the West, possibly through Russia or Iran.

  • ‘World’s loneliest dolphin’ dies after two years living in abandoned Japanese aquarium

The bottlenose dolphin first made headlines in 2018 after she was left in a small pool at the Inubosaki Marine Park Aquarium in the city of Choshi, east of Tokyo, along with 46 penguins and hundreds of fish and reptiles.

Inubosaki Marine Park Aquarium closed in January 2018 following a drop in visitors, but the animals continued to be fed by one paid employee.

We will never like ourselves as a species until we quit doing things like this.

  • Largest-ever hole in the ozone layer above Arctic finally closes

The closing has nothing to do with the reduction in pollution caused by having much of the world on COVID-19 lockdown.

Instead, it’s down to the polar vortex, the high-altitude currents that normally bring cold air to the polar regions. This has split in two giving the Arctic region a relative heatwave, with temperatures up to 20ºC higher than is normal for this time of year.

As mentioned here before, “climate change” hides the real problem, which is using too much land and urbanizing too much. This creates heat reflectors which displace jet streams and cause climate disruptions. It appearance worldwide because with more than half of humanity living in urban areas, we are doing the same dumb thing every place we go worldwide, with the same idiotic consequences.

  • Psychedelic mushrooms for depression: ‘This is the one that changed things’

Nutt says anti-depressants help only a small percentage of the people who take them. Side effects can include a blunting of the emotions.

“I like to think of it as a force field,” says Nutt. “They protect you. They cocoon you from the stresses of life, which are many and repeated, and they allow your brain to heal.”

But the effects only last as long as you take anti-depressants. When you come off them, you can experience severe withdrawal symptoms. And perhaps more importantly, anti-depressants do not deal with the root cause of depression or anxiety, says Nutt.

Psilocybin can enable ego-death, or getting outside of the perspective of the self in order to observe the connection between patterns in life. This enables people to see their problems as logical results of events or situational issues in their lives, and to see them as not unique to themselves, but manifestations of similar patterns seen elsewhere. This makes these easy to resolve. You know what else causes ego-death? Long walks in the woods, prayer, difficult work, and warfare.

  • Filipino workers at meatpacking plant tied to Canada’s biggest COVID-19 outbreak feel unfairly blamed

Elma Ton, whose husband works at Cargill, said she also has been disappointed to see comments online, specifically those that disparage multiple Filipino families living under one roof.

“I feel bad. Because instead of helping [the Filipino community], supporting them, understanding them, they’re still making fun of us,” Ton said.

“Filipinos are known to have strong family ties. So as much as possible, we love to live together.”

People do not like foreigners living among them. Democracy will not listen. This means that at times like our current panic freakout, those suppressed observations come to the fore. In addition, people who live in multi-family households like immigrants tend to sprend the disease wildly because of greater exposure than people who live alone or in smaller families.

  • Government was warned last year to prepare for devastating pandemic, according to leaked memo

The document, seen by the Guardian, reportedly set out urgent “capability requirements” that ministers needed to draw up to prevent tens of thousands of lives being lost.

Governments get warnings about thousands of possible forms of doom, mainly because bureaucrats make their career by warning against things and then getting lucky when the doom comes to pass. Hindsight then seems 20/20, since the disaster actually occurred. The problems of social mobility and adversarial systems reveal themselves in this telling event. In other news, those who silently avert crises do not make careers for themselves; those who let things get terrible and then say “I told you so” get ahead.
