USPS

This seems to have gone under the radar, but after the recent Trump XO demanding that the USPS not deliver ballots in states without voter ID, the postal service seems to be in some kind of revolt.

In our area, at least, mail is simply not being delivered. Letters go missing, packages get returned or disappear, and postal authorities seem to have no idea why this is the case. The postal service is having a tantrum (again) because it is being asked to be realistic.

We see (again) the problem of unions and government jobs which are basically subsidies for diversity who need good jobs. This means that people in the USPS often do very little, but collect opulent pensions paid for by the rest of us.

Their union status gives them the idea that they can do whatever they want to us and will be protected, plus the politicization of their existence gives them an incentive to “get political,” resulting in these periodic tantrums where everyone suffers for the USPS.

But their careers and salaries stay intact, of course, since those were negotiated long ago. Still this shows us an ominous symbol: government is falling apart because it is divided against itself.

The system desires the continuity of the system; those in the system desire the continuity of their careers. They will use whatever power they are given as leverage to force the rest of us to comply.

I suggest that instead we replace the USPS, which has become incapable of doing the task it is assigned, with a privatized agency that pegs salaries to amounts in the equivalent of 1987 dollars, and therefore never needs more union negotiations.

Our society is routinely held hostage by unions, nepotism, diversity, and other political “properties” which are used to extort vast amounts of money from us. No society can function like this, much less aspire to greatness, so it needs to change if we are to survive.
