The West finds itself in an existential struggle of many layers, corresponding to bad decisions we made going back centuries.
The first is as we see in Ceuta, Spain, a massive invasion of people who want to come here, destroy the place, take over, and then squat in the ruins much as they do in Mexico, South Africa, Haiti, and Saigon.
If we do not fix the diversity takeover, we are doomed. Once they have the vote, they control us. This means the difference between illegal immigration, legal immigration, and long-time residents is academic. All foreign DNA has to go.
The second is the struggle to escape from the subsidy state created by individualism. Every society dies by subsidizing people instead of rewarding achievement of goals. When you eschew the latter, you end up with lots of useless people doing nothing at corporate jobs.
As Crowdism argues, the difference between Communism and Democracy is academic. Any system ruled by mass opinion quickly becomes a subsidy state for individualists and all hope of a long-term goal of qualitative improvement is lost.
You can have equality or quality, but not both!
The third layer will be repairing the past. Since WW1 at least, the West has been systematically sacrificing its most intelligent by objecting to their goal-driven thinking, forcing them into poverty where they do not have children.
The loss of intelligence as a result has been massive. Average IQ is in freefall, and not all of it can be blamed on immigration. We simply killed off our best people to appease the same jubilant crowd that killed Jesus and Socrates.
It seems people are finally talking about the diversity impoverishment that has happened to White Americans over the past thirty years:
Vice President JD Vance launched a broad agency investigation of the expanding H-1B visa program on Tuesday, confronting a scheme that has pushed millions of American graduates out of jobs, homes, and careers since the 1990s.
Our prosperity was wrecked because of AADI, which creates a situation where you never get fired for hiring the non-White guy but might get fired for hiring the White guy. To keep your kids fed, you hire the non-Whites and forget about White workers.
During these thirty years, we have had a steadily accelerating competence crisis: bureaucracies that bungle every form, new-build construction that falls apart, “planned obsolescence” (really: corners cut to pay diversity taxes) gadgets that fail constantly but still charge you a monthly fee just to use them.
Lots of stuff is technologically newer but barely works. Infrastructure is rotted, to the point where the whole country looks like the late Soviet Union, stained with dirt and barely functional. Roads and bridges are falling apart.
Some of this occurred because instead of spending money on infrastructure, we threw it all into pro-diversity and anti-poverty programs in the welfare state, so there is no money to keep society working. A lot of it was simply a loss of faith.
We now have several generations who feel like abused children because they have been constantly nagged, preached to, and told they were bad for being White by the diversity state:
Many adults now in their fifties, sixties, and seventies grew up in homes where the emotional weather changed from one evening to the next, and where a child learned, by necessity, to read the signs of a parent’s mood before the parent had said a word. The front door closing was one of those signs. Whether it shut quietly or with force told the household what kind of evening was coming. Whether the keys went down softly on the hall table or hit it harder than necessary told the children which version of the parent they would meet in the kitchen.
When government acts as a parent, it abuses its citizens, and this gives them long-term psychological distress. They are constantly waiting for the next outrage, deplatforming, riot, or censorship. They are accustomed to being told that they are bad for being White.
This has set the stage for generational mental illness based on the trauma of being unwanted and subject to sudden arbitrary disciplinary action in the name of social engineering:
A new study from Iowa State University reports that parent-teen conflict can reverberate for decades and even influence how connected families feel generations later.
The study’s findings draw from the university’s long-standing Family Transitions Project, one of the nation’s most extensive longitudinal studies of family life. Since 1989, researchers have followed more than 550 individuals and their families in rural Iowa. The cohort began with early adolescents and their parents and has now expanded into three generations.
“The original teens have been followed into adulthood, while their parents have been followed into grandparenthood,” said Tricia Neppl, professor of human development and family studies at Iowa State. “This multigenerational reach is what allows us to trace how an exchange in a living room in 1991 can show up decades later in how emotionally close a grandparent feels to a grandchild born in 2020.”
Not surprisingly, after the “Me Generation” (Boomers) the mindset turned against ideology. Generation X rejected it entirely and focused on tangible things, and newer generations are seeing it as not just unnecessary but unrealistic.
All of us were unparented not because of single-parent homes but because our parents outsourced our development to the government and its dubious schools full of doddering mental health cases who hated anything successful because they saw themselves as underpaid, underappreciated public servants who deserved more than all those people making good money or having natural, non-neurotic good lives.
People now are much more willing to view ideology as a fraud designed to hide massive theft instead of a benefit to humanity; they are near the point of rejecting equality itself, which is why government is trying to kill them off by importing masses of ethnic foreigners.
Many are rejecting ideology itself and turning back to what time has honored with success, as judged on a case-by-case basis:
Lilla, a professor of the humanities at Columbia, skillfully untangles the apocalyptic “mytho-histories,” “just-so narratives,” and “political bedtime stories” favored by the modern right, in Europe and America. For him “reactionary” is not an insult. It is a taxonomic term. It describes an organic response to political and social revolution, and the quite sensible fear that the shared common life of a people has been wrenched out of its cherished patterns. Nor is the phenomenon limited to the ideological right. The left has reactionaries, too — including progressives in the nineteen-nineties who, Lilla wrote at the time, were convinced that Americans did not grasp the disastrous truth about the Reagan Revolution, “since if they did, they would overturn it.” But reactionaries on the right far outnumber those on the left. “The enduring vitality of the reactionary spirit even in the absence of a revolutionary political program,” he writes, arises from the feeling that “to live a modern life anywhere in the world today, subject to perpetual social and technological changes, is to experience the psychological equivalent of permanent revolution.”
The “permanent revolution” we experience is the “perpetual social… changes” not the technology, which alters how we do things but not what we do and what we try to achieve.
In fact, revolutions because they are based in ideology, which is an alternative reality composed of symbols that make us feel good rather than predict success in reality, have no end point; there is no switch that gets triggered where progress is finally here because progress does not work.
Therefore, once you have a revolution like the French Revolution, Bolshevik Revolution, or American Civil War, you end up in a perpetual state of revolution, always trying to reach equality-Utopia and never getting there.
Sort of like how the Christians are always waiting for their messiah but he never shows up.
Symbols are not reality. They are addictive for that reason. Instead of messy reality, you have a nice simple symbol (the talisman) which is presumed to be wholly pure and good and the explanation for why it does not work (the scapegoat) which explains away all your failings.
This can be as simple as God/Satan but also include more complex narratives like the Noble Savage versus the Cruel Colonizer, or the Virtuous Poor against the Dastardly Rich. For many it is as simple as labor versus management or individualists versus authority.
In any case, what happened to these generations was devastating. They lost the ability to believe in the future. Perceiving their society to be falling like Rome, they grew up without hope and as adults knew that anything useful would soon be destroyed.
They saw the old world, saw its death coming, and knew that their future would be bleak from a very young age. As a result, they are anhedonic and therefore amotivated beyond the basics:
Young people who experience a diminished ability to feel pleasure often struggle to adjust their physical exertion to obtain larger rewards. A recent experiment suggests this disconnect arises from specific cognitive difficulties in learning about both rewards and the physical costs required to get them.
You may wonder why you see so few GenX people active in politics and business. The answer is that they carved out niches to await the end, and have no interest in getting involved in any situation which exposes them to society. They know all is futile in the end.
