Reaganomics

The carnie hipsters will burn down any movement, political or otherwise. Their goal is to draw attention to themselves, because they are individualists, and for this reason they hide behind any realist movement they can find, since signaling the opposite of what they are hides what they are.

Currently the Right has accumulated a great deal of the carnie hipster influencer contingent, and these are busy doing what they do well: counter-signaling anything that could require them to believe we have a future.

Like most mainstream conservatives, they groove on the idea of failure and sacrifice. They do not want to have any kind of hope because this will require them to change their thinking and take action. They want failure with virtue, so they can say “I told you so!” to the ruins.

Whatever is popular, they oppose; they take a contrary position. If Trump bombs Iran, they become pro-peace. If Trump enables tariffs, they become defenders of the poor. Their entire viewpoint consists of telling us that what is real is not real after all.

Consequently, you get a lot of people out there who are insisting on doom instead of accepting victory. They see the Iran war as the new Iraq war; they believe the economy is failing; they think that even the greatest immigration crackdown in history is pro-immigration.

We can start with the economic angle. As mentioned here many times before, America is transitioning from a demand-side economic system to a supply-side economic system. Demand-side values giving away money, supply-side values productivity.

This is the same transition that Carter-Reagan was, and like that one, it will take two years.

Early 1980s America was full of whining about “Reaganomics.” Smarter people objected, in vain, because they saw that the economic malaise was a creation of Carter policies, and that the Reagan idea — lower taxes, more production — was the only fix but was a big transition!

Similarly now we have gone from a country that produced nothing and kept its economy going with government stimulus to a country that produces everything it needs and avoids government as much as possible. We are changing economic systems from the roots upward.

The talking heads of various types want to blame Trump because he is tangible. Joe 0’Biden is (thankfully) a memory, but Trump has the power now. Contrarian ironists always blame those in power because it is a safe bet and lets the individualist define themselves as “different” without actually having any different ideas.

You are getting conned by these people because all they care about is clicks, book sales, and podcast impressions. To them, rebelling against whatever is in power is the whole of the game because all they want is to appear to be an alternative.

The Right gets conned by these people because, like all sociopaths, they seem to have a clear plan. Thomas Massie, Ron Paul, Nick Fuentes, Pope Benedict… they all offer the same vision, which is that of denying reality and embracing symbolism instead so you “feel good.”

The Reaganomics transition will take some time. In the meantime, we can talk about immigration and diversity in modes other than fawning for the first time, we are talking about genetics, and the doors are steadily closing on immigration.

We are winning because the Left had power and then showed its ideas were suicide. The doubters just want to take their share of the corpse. It is high time the Right rid itself of these carnie hipster self-aggrandizing saboteurs.
