After the discovery of America, people streamed to it to discover new horizons with a sense a freedom coupled to a sense of relief having escaped a dreary past. Stories and legends abound from their exploits, including transformation to the world’s top economy.
After WW2 people sighed with relief to return home in a state of freedom, start fresh, and build a new future. New technologies developed during wartime were re-applied for commercial use and economies soared. Music filled the air and art forms abounded.
After the fall of the Iron Curtain one country in particular (South Africa) sighed with relief, expanded their business horizons and burst on the sports and music stage to express their happiness.
Most people built their own homes, emerging from a past where homes were rented or built by someone else and sold afterwards. It seems that having to think through a design phase — organizing finances, setting requirements, drawing up specifications, production and logistics/scheduling — transform people for the better.
It implies for example, that profit-oriented companies should only employ happy people that went through a design phase of their own home, and not anxious people that did not. Those can always work for the State or non-profit companies.

The difference with people with own-built homes is the design phase. If you just buy a pre-completed house or apartment, you will fall into the renter category. On the other hand, if you buy an existing property and then set about large renovations, you will fall into the own-built category.
The first point made above is that people are transformed when they experience the trials and tribulations of having a home that suits their very personal needs and wants. This happens to men and women, and the man should not for example exclude his wife in the home acquisition process, or vice versa.
The second point made above is that organizations are transformed with either the purpose of profit or the purpose of not-profit (where revenue is the goal). The psychology of the organization flows from this decision and directly affects employees during execution of such vision and mission statements.
These arguments motivate further research into the effectiveness of organizations as a whole (not efficiency), including government bureaucracies. Ineffective organizations should not be allowed to exist because it renders all those who participate anxious, if not bankrupt.
