The same people who nagged you in school for attempting to have life experience instead of following the rules are now running a major political party. An interesting study from last year finds that most “educators” favor Democrats:

Of the 437,783 campaign contributions made by educators during the 2022 election cycle, 84% supported Democrats. Among professors, 93% of contributions went to Democratic candidates or committees compared to 68% of those from K-12 teachers. According to Open Secrets, 54% of campaign dollars during the 2022 election cycle supported Democrats. And according to Pew Research, 51% of voters preferred Republican candidates in the 2022 election.

Educators are naturally people of the rule who want everyone to get along and do the same things so that some can be chosen for their exceptional obedience. They like pacifism and including everyone because this cements their power. Naturally they tend toward Leftism, so Leftists gravitate toward academia.
