The thesis offered on this site is complex but relevant in all situations. People in groups organize toward decay because individuals choose easy answers over facing complex problems, and so after a brief period of ascent civilizations get taken over by the Crowd and wrecked.

And building on that idea, diversity will always be popular, but it gives foreign groups in the now-diverse nation a choice between being conquered or conquering. They opt for the latter, provoking a diversity backlash even in places known for their tolerance:

Tens of thousands of people, angry over perceived social injustices, spent hours rampaging through the streets. Their target? The Greek-owned restaurants and shops that had come to symbolise their grievances.

“That night, crowds of 20-25,000 people destroyed almost every Greek business in the city, crying out, ‘Tonight’s the night we hunt Greeks’,” says historian Thomas Gallant.

“One restaurant was so badly damaged that a [local newspaper] reporter said it could not be more damaged if a bomb had gone off in it.”

Kosovo. Northern Ireland, when it was just ethnic Scots versus ethnic Irish (who were also Catholic, poor dears). South Africa is now seeing some of it, where its Black population is revolting against foreign Black ethnic groups who have come in and “taken our jerbs.”

Diversity itself is the abyss. It is not the fault of the Greek, the Black, or the Jew that their ways are foreign (and by our definitions, criminal/bad); it is the fault of diversity that those ways are clashing with our ways and eating our civilization alive.
