Demoralized

We should talk about demoralization in the West. Since WW1, when we slaughtered the best of a generation for some dubious assertion of democracy, this place has been depressed because people know in their gut that it is a failing civilization.

After WW2, it was clear that democracy had won… but what did this mean? Simply put, that our future was determined by compromise, especially with the workers. The workers always want Communism; they do not understand anything more, which is why they are workers not owners.

The West went on a jihad for civil rights in the 1950s probably simply because we had nothing else we could claim as a goal. Christianity was dead; religions that reject reality perish as knowledge of the world increases. Culture had been abolished by Irish diversity.

Since we had all fought a war for the principle that no nation could exclude other ethnic groups, diversity became the accepted norm, and soon integration was forced on us at gunpoint as the Irish busily passed rules like the Hart-Celler Act and Affirmative Action.

At this point, however, it became clear that there was no hope. We all knew the story of Rome, how it expanded rapidly, defeated the opposition, and then without a new mountain to climb, fell into repetition while it imported foreigners to power its democracy and economy.

Eventually, the foreigners took over, and then another group swept in from the north and clobbered what was left of Rome. A few dissidents ran off to the East where, mixing with Turks and other Asiatics, they became less of what they had been.

We all knew that contemporary Italy and Greece were a warning. Empires that mix races just fall off the face of history. They disappear from the history books and are discovered later as primitive societies staffed with ethnically-indeterminate peasants living in swarming corruption.

We also knew that with the WW1/2 victories for democracy, culture was effectively dead. Your nation cannot have its own culture when it is ruled by international human rights law and dedicated to democracy like a new religion, but diversity really erased any trace of culture.

This meant that growing up, starting with the lessons we learned early in school, we know that we were doomed. This led to massive demoralization: anything good we did would be lost, and our lives would consist of bourgeois safe corporate jobs and consumerism.

In a dying society, no one listens to reason; to do so would threaten their mental state and their fiction-absolute. As a result, people pursue illusions, and mediocre people succeed while those with greater guts and intelligence are sidelined.

In this society, nothing good wins; only bad but easy wins, because the herd is looking for escape and deflection. People do not listen to reason; they do not care about reality. They want to manage their mental state through symbols and that requires distraction.

Societies go down that path because they become unstable because they no longer have a goal, or a target of an end-state like being a thriving civilization. Having given up on a goal, they have become carcasses on which parasites feast.

The parasites of course rationalize their own taking as morally good so that they can keep doing it. They rationalize from abstract principles in order to manage their own mental state. They claim that their actions are morally superior specifically because they are not.

To that end, everything they do is status signaling, which follows the social rule of accepting everyone and being political, or offering compromise. This leads to democracy; democracy only goes farther Left, and so you end up at Communism or third-world warlordism very rapidly.

In a society like this, no one has any hope. The path forward is a path to decline. The only other option is to stand up and say that everything is crazy and then be crucified literally or figuratively. We have lived without hope for too long and owe it to ourselves to change this.
