Assassins, suicide bombers, spree shooters, and liberals have this in common: they resent the world for being more important than they are. They view narcissism as healthy and normal because the philosophy of individualism justifies each person doing what makes him feel good.

And that, in the end, is their goal: they want to “feel good” by maintaining the story they tell themselves about how their lives are good, their choices have been good, and nothing could have been better given the hand of cards they were dealt by circumstance.

This story is their fiction-absolute and it is how they regulate their emotions in order to feel good about their lives. Forget religion; the opium of the masses is main character syndrome where they explain their lives as if they were heroes of the story.

In order to feel good about themselves, they have to demonize the world as an oppressor and also, to both envy and resent those who are doing better than they are. Individualism naturally produces this type of duality of the enemy where it is both in control and stupid/bad.

They resemble the famous literary character Captain Ahab, who was more concerned about making himself feel superior to a white whale than he was about saving his ship, crew, and his own life. He was insane, but individualism made him so.

Leftists would be content to burn down the world to rule over the ashes because doing so would enable them to regulate their own emotions without having to change their thinking. They could remain individualistic and, having removed anything better than themselves, feel supreme.

The third world is the most individualistic place for this reason. Everyone sabotages its institutions so that they can feel superior to those, and since there is no function, the individual is safe to be dysfunctional and self-obsessed.

We see a lot of bloviation on the internet about how the Left is anti-White. While that is true, it is a branch from their basic agenda, which is to be against anything which is successful, strong, sane, healthy, or good. Those compete with the individualist for importance.

In that we see the defining attribute of individualists: they want to be more important than the world, and are reliant on “social” definitions of “important” to work around the evident fact that the world is bigger, older, wiser, and more important than they are.

If humanity lost individualism, the biggest hits would come to the Left and the organized religious sphere, which seems to indulge many of a wholly solipsistic order. The remaining 40% of us could move on and do great things.

This is not a rant against the existence of gods, which seems more likely to be true than not, but against the tendency of organized religion to “capture” spirituality and turn it into a vehicle for human individualism so that it becomes popular and profitable.

(With humans, “follow the money” and “cui bono” are never the wrong questions to ask.)

Captain Ahab resented the white whale for not bowing to his will, even though doing so would be illogical for the whale. Similarly individualists want the world to reflect their own psychology back at them, and when it does not, they decide to destroy it.
