A quick note, where a longer one might be appropriate: thank you to all who sent in gifts and donations in response to our recent call. We — there is a team behind this website and its related projects — do not like to ask, but it helps keep the hosting bills out of daily life and provide equipment that we use.

The world has become inert. It is not simply the scrolling of social media, but probably an enduring fatalism brought about by the weight of what must be done. We are talking about moving millions, changing principles, and releasing ourselves from antiquated and insane political systems.

This demoralizes most. There is no hope, they say. But history has its bends and twists, and they tend to reflect a recognition that what was being done has failed, and we need a different path. Not a new one — there are no new ones — but we wish to run away from what has betrayed us. Take heart.
