Climate Change Theory Disintegrates As Local Effects Are Proven More Relevant

Thursday, January 18th, 2018

Climate change is infuriating because, like blaming The Rich™ or The Jews™ for the downfall of Western Civilization, it is a scapegoat that conceals a more complex problem. Much as the West was torn down by individualism that led to herd behavior, our environment is being destroyed by land overuse leading from overpopulation caused by a lack of social order.

We all know that something is going wrong with the environment, and that it seems tied to human expansion into every corner of Earth and the swelling of our population to nearly eight billion, with most of those being of low IQ and living in near-subsistence poverty.

Even if all of us in the nu-West change our lifestyles so that we live in mud huts, eat vegan, and cease breeding, the human population surge will continue. With it will come a domination of the land that natural species need in order to hunt, reproduce, and live. At some point, this will reduce their numbers below safe levels of genetic variety, and many of them will crash and vanish.

Worse, we will be left with a world speckled in plastic waste, saturated throughout with heavy metals and industrial toxins, soaked in carcinogenic diesel exhaust and factory waste, in which life will be a mere shadow of what came before. This takes time to do, but already we are seeing the warning signs in frog mutations, fish depletion, garbage islands, and human cancers.

Compared to that, climate change appears as merely a symbol designed to distill this complexity into a movie plot so that voters can recognize it for a few moments.

Unfortunately, as Michael Crichton pointed out long ago, climate change is a fantasy; the reality is that local effects, such as displacement of air currents by the heat rising from too much concrete, or flooding because of overdevelopment, are effecting local climate, and it is happening worldwide because humanity has overpopulated and overbuilt worldwide.

In the meantime, the climate change narrative took another big hit with a statistical look at Antarctic climate which shows a cooling effect that kicked in two decades ago:

The Antarctic Peninsula (AP) is often described as a region with one of the largest warming trends on Earth since the 1950s, based on the temperature trend of 0.54 °C/decade during 1951–2011 recorded at Faraday/Vernadsky station. Accordingly, most works describing the evolution of the natural systems in the AP region cite this extreme trend as the underlying cause of their observed changes. However, a recent analysis (Turner et al., 2016) has shown that the regionally stacked temperature record for the last three decades has shifted from a warming trend of 0.32 °C/decade during 1979–1997 to a cooling trend of − 0.47 °C/decade during 1999–2014. While that study focuses on the period 1979–2014, averaging the data over the entire AP region, we here update and re-assess the spatially-distributed temperature trends and inter-decadal variability from 1950 to 2015, using data from ten stations distributed across the AP region. We show that Faraday/Vernadsky warming trend is an extreme case, circa twice those of the long-term records from other parts of the northern AP. Our results also indicate that the cooling initiated in 1998/1999 has been most significant in the N and NE of the AP and the South Shetland Islands (> 0.5 °C between the two last decades), modest in the Orkney Islands, and absent in the SW of the AP. This recent cooling has already impacted the cryosphere in the northern AP, including slow-down of glacier recession, a shift to surface mass gains of the peripheral glacier and a thinning of the active layer of permafrost in northern AP islands.

As always, it takes the mainstream some time to catch up with happenings in the world. Right now, we are seeing unstable climate across the globe, but this appears to be the result of displacement of jet streams — a consequence of local effects, possibly the heat rising from over-concreted urbanized areas — causing intense weather fluctuation that is responsible for these odd weather patterns:

Increased fluctuations in the path of the North Atlantic jet stream since the 1960s coincide with more extreme weather events in Europe such as heat waves, droughts, wildfires and flooding, reports a University of Arizona-led team.

The research is the first reconstruction of historical changes in the North Atlantic jet stream prior to the 20th century. By studying tree rings from trees in the British Isles and the northeastern Mediterranean, the team teased out those regions’ late summer weather going back almost 300 years—to 1725.

…Having a 290-year record of the position of the jet stream let Trouet and her colleagues determine that swings between northern and southern positions of the jet became more frequent in the second half of the 20th century, she said.

…”There’s a debate about whether the increased variability of the jet stream is linked to man-made global warming and the faster warming of the Arctic compared to the tropics,” Trouet said.

We can tell that heat has an effect on the jet stream because the widening of our tropical belt has driven it northward. However, during the same years that this has been measured, the concrete in the area around the tropics and the southern part of the United States has massively increased, which may be which the jet stream moved north:

From 1979 to 2001, the Northern Hemisphere’s jet stream moved northward on average at a rate of about 1.25 miles a year, according to the paper published Friday in the journal Geophysical Research Letters. The authors suspect global warming is the cause, but have yet to prove it.

…The study’s authors and other scientists suggest that the widening of the Earth’s tropical belt — a development documented last year — is pushing the three jet streams toward the poles.

What makes this assessment difficult is that global climate change looks about like the effects of many small climate displacements caused by too much concrete, car exhaust, and lack of forest space, which absorbs moisture and cools the air. Climate change proves simpler to grasp, and easier to either give up on or attack with trivial lifestyle changes, so it remains more popular.

Nothing Could Be More Carbon Neutral Than Al Gore Taking A Dirt Nap

Sunday, July 23rd, 2017

Even Blessed Gaia suffers from supperating zits on her sweet, terrestrial buttocks. None represents more accurately this bloat of oil, bacteria and other subcutaneous waste products than Albert Gore, Jr. He emits IR-absorbing GHGs below.

“The abolition of slavery, woman’s suffrage and women’s rights, the civil rights movement and the anti apartheid movement in South Africa, the movement to stop the toxic phase of nuclear arms race and more recently the gay rights movement,” Gore said. “All these movements have one thing in common. they were all met with ferocious resistance,” Gore said on July 13th during his talk to the conference in Melbourne. Other speakers at the summit tied climate “solutions” to social causes. Climate activists admitted that “Carbon Neutral” goals were being used to achieve “gender & social equity.”

If “Ferocious Resistance” equals Dad , Junior truly has a deep point about that Civil Rights Era stuff. Not that anyone getting their phone boosted on the BART really cares whether DR3 is true or not, but it demonstrates the extent to which Al Gore is filled with intestinal emissions of Sulfur Dioxide and Methane. Naomi Klein explains the real point of The Climate Change Movement.

Author Naomi Klein, author of the new book “This Changes Everything: Capitalism vs. The Climate”, admitted during the 2014 People’s Climate March in New York City activists would be caling for the same “solutions” even if there was no climate “crisis.” She was asked, “Even if climate change issue did not exist, you would be calling for same structural changes?” Klein responded: ‘Yeah.’ Following the panel, Climate Depot asked Klein if she would support all the same climate “solutions” even if the science was wrong. “Yes, I would still be for social justice even if there was not climate change. Yes, you caught me Marc,” Klein answered sarcastically as she abruptly ended the interview. Klein told the activists she recommended “weaving this [climate] movement into all of our movements.”

Modern Environmentalism has forgotten Deep Ecology, but still remains all about solutions. The problem it solves now is how to keep Red Diaper Babies relevant after the whole Holodomor/Khmer Rouge chic went sideways in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The Berlin Wall fell and China opened more completely to the West. Maybe ten years later, Mann and Briffa were fabricating Hockey Stick Curves and Al Gore, Jr was all aboard the scam train the same time he flew aboard Kenneth Lay’s corporate jets. Just 537 more votes in Florida, and Gore would have ridden The Piltdown Man of Geophysics straight into the White House.

So environmentalism has become a career ladder for the sophisticated, amoral sort of bro that can be found by The National Enquirer generating bastards with groupies while his wife dies of cancer. But the planet remains in peril. Woe betides the verdant forest of our forefathers that these liver flukes of psuedo-scientific litigation would no more seek to acknowledge than they would their various “outside children.”

Our current ecological state is one that is imperiled by a vicious cycle of democratic nations that vote themselves free beer and third world populations that go full-metal r-strategy when it comes to reproduction and then traipse across open borders to befoul places they care nothing for. The best in the world breed below replacement, the worst are filled with a passionate fecundity. The consumerist flood of cheap, disposable junk fills our landscape with a level of garbage commensurate with what gets left behind by a typical Earthpeace demonstration.

And this garbage hides the verdant joy of the landscape the way our officially sanctioned narratives hide the true problem we face with our environment. I call it The Michelob Delusion: the false belief that we can really have it all. A politics that genuinely protected would be a politics of stewardship, cost-benefit analysis and limitations on how much we could acquire via the labor of others. It would make you earn, save, reinvest and work for every toy or bauble you acquired. Then you’d have to own, maintain and keep track of all that crap or else.

The Michelob Delusion then causes The Nevada Problem. This can be summed as follows: Any place that considers it a state of emergency when the stoners can’t get their supply of chronic will have a dead environment until the stoners do the planet a favor and fatally OD. You cannot promise your entire population the moon and expect your ecology to not rapidly deplete. We cannot all haz cheeburger everyday. Claiming that these problems are all global warming’s fault and throwing a trash-strewn climate march to make it stop is not going to make anything unpleasant cease from being inevitable.

Expecting Al Gore to save the environment is about as stupid as expecting Swirl Activists and Cuckservatives to end racial division. Just as nothing could improve race relations in The United States of America faster than debunking any philosophical gravamen left under Cuckservatism and reestablishing De Facto and De Jure Freedom of Association, nothing would be more Carbon Neutral than Al Gore taking a dirt nap.

Climate Change Controversy Shows The Leftist Petitio Principii In Action

Saturday, July 15th, 2017

The Left as a whole represents a begging-the-question (petitio principii) fallacy, in that they tell us that equality or progress “should” exist and “should” be better than our current way of life, and then expect us to implement those in order figure out if what they say is true is true.

As part of that strategy, they accuse anyone who notices that their ideas are unproven and unrealistic of in fact attacking them. We can see this in action with the ongoing bloviation about “climate change”:

Once science gets dragged into the territory of politics, its opponents can accuse it of being a distortion of science. Scientists are meant to be politically neutral, at least as far as their science is concerned. Yet it is almost impossible to remain neutral when you are under political assault.

But who dragged science into the territory of politics? Climate change has been a Leftist issue from the start, and that was what caused all of this research to be done in the first place. Science, like any other human institution, responds to what people want to hear and buy, because that is how researchers and labs gain fame and thus succeed in the market.

Now the Left has turned this around so that anyone who resists the “truths” they tell us will be proven true if we just implement them, even though this person is reacting to the Leftist action, is accused of having taken action against the Leftists, who presume they are right and therefore, act like victims instead of someone who has been disagreed with.

It is no wonder the modern post-collapse West resembles a juvenile indoctrination camp with such childish logic passing for the norm among Leftists. If they were not lobotomized before they joined the cult, they certainly will be after a few months of choking down illogical Leftist ideas.

Liberal Democracy Ends In Collapse Conditions

Friday, July 14th, 2017

Those on the right who are not fascinated by having an emotional reaction to perceived injustices, but instead are asking about the future of civilization, realize that we do not have to fight liberal democracy. It has ended itself, and everyone in power knows this, which is why they are stealing whatever they can carry and headed for rich people enclaves buried in peaceful parts of the third world.

For most people, this future seems remote. Our technology works — sort of — and seems to banish nature away, so we humans can do whatever we want. But the truth is that nature is more like mathematics, an inherent order to how events turn out in reality, and so it is within us and rules whatever we do, and if we deny this order, our actions simply end in comical disaster.

Amerika might be seen as a conditional doomsayer: our articles point out that ideas have consequences in that actions based on those ideas lead to predictable conclusions. When we as a species make bad choices, we can expect doom. That doom has demographic, racial, cultural, economic, military, environmental and survival implications:

A recent article in New Scientist…argues that decreasing fertility rates are indicative of the world’s population slowly imploding rather than exponentially rising — a trend that will continue until we reach some form of crisis point. As it stands, half of the world’s countries have fallen below the replacement rate for developed nations (which is, on average, 2 children per woman). If this trend continues on, countries like Germany and Italy will see their populations decrease by half over the next 60 years.

This is not the first time Elon Musk has discussed overpopulation: in March he warned that we face a “demographic implosion,” because in many countries “you have a very high dependency ratio, where the number of people who are retired is very high relative to the number of people who are net producers.”

Musk raises the point that we are facing dual crises: the producers are declining, while the dependents are increasing.

This follows the path of every egalitarian society every attempted. Technically, equality cannot be implemented because those who are less successful are limited by biology; they cannot be made smarter, healthier, wiser or more noble. Therefore, the only method of implementing equality is to penalize the successful by removing some of their wealth and power, and giving it to the masses.

In turn, that creates a perverse incentive structure and dark organization. Those who are naturally adept are penalized, but those who are incompetent are subsidize, so the adept stop engaging in the system. Eventually, they drop out and have difficulty finding mates. As the incompetents take over, daily life becomes insane, and so the adept stop reproducing entirely because, being competent, they recognize that in an insane world, their offspring have no future. Equality means that the incompetents take over and the competent are killed off.

Where do we see this pattern all the time? In the third world, those who attempt to do more than the average are often seen as witch doctors or cheaters and beaten down. As a result, natural selection kicks in that selects against competence, and soon you have a society of self-focused, incompetent people who not surprisingly, make horrible decisions regarding government and culture, leading to a non-civilization in civilization form.

The incompetence of liberal democracy has become visible because of the sheer stupidity of human decision-making over the past 228 years. This leads to a series of simultaneous crises working together to doom us, meaning that we will experience — much as with the rise in incompetents and loss of competent people — a simultaneous intensified need at the same time our options are limited. A good partial list:

1. Habitats are being destroyed at record rates.

2. Wild foods, especially fish stocks, are being destroyed; trawling is damaging the sea-bed.

3. Biodiversity is being lost at record rates.

4. The area of land available for food production, and the remaining land’s productivity, is decreasing due to:

  • Soil lost to erosion;
  • Fertility lost following declining levels of plant nutrients and soil carbon;
  • Soil productivity is being destroyed by salinisation due to the build-up of natural salts from irrigation water and reclaimed sewage water;
  • Land is being taken out of production for the construction of housing and roads, etc.
  • Productivity in a number of areas is declining because of declining rainfall (with climate change), in some areas previously productive land is turning to desert;
  • Coastal land is being lost due to rising sea levels, this is particularly important in the world’s great river deltas (which have some of the world’s most fertile land);
  • Land-use is being changed from food production to fuel production.

…6. Fresh water resources are greatly over-committed, and in many areas are declining due to climate change. Water is being drawn from many of the world’s major aquifers at rates much greater than they are being recharged by natural processes; many are failing or will begin failing in the near future. Much of the world’s food production depends on irrigation, but the water available for irrigation is decreasing.

7. Humanity is approaching the ‘photosynthetic ceiling’. Soon there will be little photosynthetic capacity on earth that is not dedicated to man’s direct use.

…8. A huge range of chemicals are being released into natural environments with unknown long-term effects.

…9. Plastic wastes are being released into natural environments with unknown long-term effects. It has been forecast that by 2050, 95% of seabirds will have plastic in their gut.

…15. The oceans are becoming polluted, apart from floating plastic waste, there are high levels of pollution even in the deepest parts of the oceans.

…18. Phosphate supplies for the production of fertiliser are running out. Phosphorus is one of the three most important plant nutrients; without phosphorus fertilisers the “Green Revolution” in agriculture would not have been possible.

…21. Pollinating insects are in decline. Honeybees, in particular, are suffering badly in many countries from colony collapse disorder.

…22. Man is now artificially producing more nitrates (as fertilisers) than are produced naturally, with the result that the natural nitrogen cycle has become unbalanced. Nitrates and phosphate being washed off farmland and from sewage are causing algal blooms and consequent ‘dead zones’ in the coastal waters of many parts of the world.

This list, taken from an excellent list which unfortunately contains Leftist non-issues alongside real issues, shows the tip of the iceberg. We are living out of balance not just with nature, but with logic; we are seeing that nature, shaped by aeons of evolution, is more logical than we are.

If you had asked an aristocrat back in 1788 what would happen if the masses took over leadership, he or she would probably have said that the proles would not recognize the difference between want and need, and would therefore consume everything recklessly, forgetting that there is a cause behind every effect, and that the cause of our success is our environment and our living in balance within natural order.

The prole holiday has wrecked the planet and set into motion forces it cannot control. These will not end catastrophically, but through a steady increase in the cost of everything good — real food, clean air, safe water — with those who have no money ending up with cancers and other degenerative diseases which will limit their lifespans.

In other words, the world will resemble Brazil: a few nice areas surrounded by unruly favelas who have to be fought with armed police and bought off with social welfare otherwise they will revolt, with the classic attribute of prole revolutions being that the revolutionaries seem unconcerned with the losses they take or the damage they do. These are gangster raids, not political evolutions.

However, the sources of wealth for the powerful will decrease. Consumer markets are less relevant when the proles can no longer afford gasoline or much in the way of consumer goods, and productivity itself will decline when the cheap resources that propel agriculture and industry are no longer easily available. Wealth will decline as well.

This means that in the future, business models like Facebook, Amazon, Google, Walmart and Costco will decline. With the end of the age of cheap consumer goods, the vast consumerist group that makes these businesses wealthy will decline, and margins will narrow in industry and agriculture as natural resources thin.

At the same time, we will have produced “exponential revolutions,” or those in which vast numbers of impoverished and purposeless people band together into giant gangs to take whatever wealth remains, including genetic wealth from smarter populations. This leads to a situation like the one described by Jean Raspail in Camp of the Saints, where the third world invades the first world:

In an interview with Il Messagero newspaper, Mr Tajani said there would be an exodus “of biblical proportions that would be impossible to stop if we don’t confront the problem now”.

…”When people lose hope, they risk crossing the Sahara and the Mediterranean because it is worse to stay at home, where they run enormous risks. If we don’t confront this soon, we will find ourselves with millions of people on our doorstep within five years.

“Today we are trying to solve a problem of a few thousand people, but we need to have a strategy for millions of people.”

His solution of investment in Africa is actually the wrong approach. At this point, the die is cast. There are too many people, and most of them would rather go to a nice new place than try to fix their homes, which means that the nice places will be destroyed just like the goose that laid golden eggs in the fables of yore.

This follows a pattern that is as old as liberalism: lower castes reproduce recklessly, then blame those above them for having failed to stop them, and this triggers a revolution which replaces the higher castes with lower ones, resulting in even worse decisions that amplify the original problems.

Now that this has happened in the West, we have people at the top who are so brain-locked on Leftism that they think immigration is healthy and viable. This is the same process that destroyed many classic civilizations across the world, including Angkor Wat, Greece, Aztecs, Maya and most likely many more. Societies die by caste revolt.

In other words, our colonization of the third world merely exported our own revolutions, and now those revolutions have come back to visit us, which is a consequence of the incompetence of our leaders and most people in our society, which was also brought on by our revolutions. As long as we remain in thrall to chasing the mythical god of Equality, we will self-destruct no matter what methods we try.

The proof of this can be found in the collapse conditions which we are now facing. Sure, climate change is nonsense, but what about pollution, overfishing, land overuse, erosion, and other signs of how we have thoroughly abused our world to the point that we are threatening our own future? Equality creates a tragedy of the commons by rewarding people simply for being human, which creates an incentive to arrive, absorb social benefits, and then take over the political apparatus so those benefits never end.

As Western democracies collapse from within in a fog of bad decisions, very few voices will point to the obvious culprit. They will blame the Rich,™ the Anglos, the Jews,™ the Christians, the atheists, the Leftists. They will not realize that it is our notion of equality that has killed us, and until we discard it, everything we do will fail while destroying us.

Tuesday, June 13th, 2017

While the Left bloviates onward about “climate change,” those of us with more experience did something simpler: we observed. We watched the changes over time. We looked for cause and effect in the microcosm, knowing that it would amplify in the macrocosm. And we came to different conclusions.

Mainstream science — people paid to research and for the popularity of the “studies” they produce — has convinced itself that there is too much carbon dioxide and methane in the atmosphere, and that this is altering our climate. Maybe this is somewhat true, but it also hits on the two prongs of the fork of bad logic: its results are not consistent, and better explanations exist.

Watching this city grow and swallow up suburbs and towns, the dominant change visible was replacement of forest and grass with concrete. A new subdivision goes up, and houses and driveways cover half of the ground. Then they install a convenience store and gas station, adding more concrete for parking. Then come the boutiques and coffee shops, liquor stores and hairdressers, fast food and big box stores. Each is surrounded by a wide skirt of concrete.

At that point, people start to fear the wilderness. To them, it means only wild critters that come in through the basement or garage. The safe territory is divided up by roads, covered mostly in concrete, and the remaining “nature” are curated plantings or denatured fragments of forest, with all the undergrowth and ground detritus cleared aside so snakes, rodents and bugs do not proliferate there.

Then, they get rid of the unsightly plants and replace them with ornamental ones. They remove the natural features that animals need, like small creeks and hills, and make the landscape friendly for human eyes with small sloping hills and flat areas for grass. Then they irrigate so that the grass does not die when rain stays away for more than a day or two.

This results in an environment that is mostly concrete, lacking multi-layered forest ecosystems, and where the plants are not the efficient local species that thrive; in fact, what is desired are plants that barely hang on, so they do not need frequent pruning or cleanup. The concrete reflects heat, the asphalt retains it and then emits it at night, and the result is that it is always warmer and stays warm all night long.

Rising heat from the roads and parking lots drives away the small breezes that could gently chip away at the mass of hot air hovering above the human settlement. It seems to deter the smaller rain clouds as well, so the almost daily small rains do not appear. Those both wet the ground and provide water that then evaporates, carrying heat higher above in the atmosphere.

Add to that the smoke — particulates from exhaust and dirt — that hovers in the air, the toxic and mutagenic chemicals emitted by internal combustion and industry, and the gasses emitted by human building materials, and suddenly there is an impenetrable layer of heated insulation hugging the earth.

These are local effects. However, when that locality is magnified many times, the effect takes on what seems like a global effect. It displaces natural air streams, making some areas hotter and some much colder as warm air moves away. It interrupts the natural process of the earth taking on heat and then letting it out at night, which in turn creates greater air flow. Wherever humanity goes, they bring the same practice of concreting, and so the climate is displaced.

In addition, something strange happens with the water supply. Where previously rain soaked into the ground and then evaporated, creating warm currents that engendered breezes and whipped that moisture up into the clouds, now it bounces off the concrete and pools. Storm sewers get some of it, but a huge amount simply goes under the concrete, creating underground erosion that later manifests as subsidence sinkholes:

We also induce sinkholes when we start putting up parking lots and buildings and changing what we call the hydrologic regime. Instead of the water naturally soaking into the ground, it’s now running off and being concentrated—being put into the ground at one point.

This in turn has a negative effect on trees. The earth that they need around their roots is depleted and its life-giving nutrients washed away. Fewer of them thrive, providing less of the shade and strength to the soil that they normally do. Trees also drop small amounts of excess water, cooling the air around them. That lessens also.

Climate change is a narrative. It is a comforting variation on the usual environmentalist idea, which is that we just need to make our gadgets more efficient. What it misses is that no matter how efficient the gadgets are, with too many humans, the climate will change because of how we change the land when we use it. Even developing societies alter it with fields, slash and burn agriculture, houses, roads and harvesting wood. When there are few humans, the impact is light, but when there are too many in any given area, the natural systems that avoid overheating are neutralized.

Conservatives are those who conserve the best of humanity. This requires that they also conserve nature, since humans and nature exist in a symbiotic relationship. When this is out of balance, horrors occur, and fallacies like “climate change” only obscure what we must do: decentralize and reduce our footprint by reducing our numbers.

Trump Exits The Paris Agreement On Climate Change

Thursday, June 1st, 2017

The usual nutcases and droolers are neurosing wildly over Donald Trump’s withdrawal of the United States from the Paris climate accord:

Citing a litany of statistics disputed by environmentalists, Trump argued Thursday that the pact would hurt domestic manufacturing and other industries and would put the United States at a “permanent disadvantage” with China, India and other rising powers. Staying in the accord, he said, would cost the United States as many as 2.7 million jobs by 2025 and as much as $3 trillion in lost gross domestic product.

…“The rest of the world applauded when we signed the Paris agreement,” Trump said. “They went wild. They were so happy. For the simple reason that it put our country, the United States of America, which we all love, at a very, very big economic disadvantage.”

Remember how Europeans cheered when America elected Obama, and were complimenting us on how “progressive” we were? When your competition encourages you to do something, it is usually a bad idea, and Europe is still irked by American power and the necessity of European dependence on it if they do not want to be speaking Russian or Chinese.

Perhaps we should consider the words of George Washington in his “Farewell Address” to the nation:

If we remain one people under an efficient government, the period is not far off when we may defy material injury from external annoyance; when we may take such an attitude as will cause the neutrality we may at any time resolve upon to be scrupulously respected; when belligerent nations, under the impossibility of making acquisitions upon us, will not lightly hazard the giving us provocation; when we may choose peace or war, as our interest, guided by justice, shall counsel.

Why forego the advantages of so peculiar a situation? Why quit our own to stand upon foreign ground? Why, by interweaving our destiny with that of any part of Europe, entangle our peace and prosperity in the toils of European ambition, rivalship, interest, humor or caprice?

It is our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliances with any portion of the foreign world; so far, I mean, as we are now at liberty to do it; for let me not be understood as capable of patronizing infidelity to existing engagements. I hold the maxim no less applicable to public than to private affairs, that honesty is always the best policy. I repeat it, therefore, let those engagements be observed in their genuine sense. But, in my opinion, it is unnecessary and would be unwise to extend them.

Washington warned us against what are now referred to as “entangling alliances,” or treaties which bind us to action when other nations encounter certain situations. The classic example would be a treaty to go to war against any nation that attacks an ally; however, agreements to follow climate standards specified by foreign scientists and governments would also qualify.

In this sense, a nationalist sense, every nation must find its own path and through that independence, will determine its own future. That becomes difficult when we consider that human impact on the environment concerns resources that are shared worldwide. Then again, when a superpower acts, others will follow, without a treaty being required.

The world is denial of the cause of its environmental problems; “climate change” is a Leftist invention designed to disguise the real problem, which is population growth which is almost exclusively occurring in the third world. The Leftist “solution” is to transfer wealth from the first world to the third, which will then cause a further population boom.

A more sensible policy would be to end immigration, deport those foreign to the founding group in all nations, and then stop giving aid and economic trade to the third world. Let us take care of our own needs, and then world population will not explode on a boom created by Western economies, Western medicine, Western political stability and Western goodwill.

When we take care of ourselves first, each nation realizes that it must solve its own problems, and then has to ask itself what type of life fits its people. For many in the world, subsistence farming and tribal warlord social order provides the best sustainable option. With the withdrawal of Western companies, these societies could define their own future.

It also makes sense to ask why the West is so active in the third world. The simple answer is that unions raised the costs of our labor to insane levels, and they were protected by government, so our manufacturers relocated their production offshore. There, they do not face affirmative action lawsuits, strikes and shutdowns, endless regulations and the high cost of hiring flaky underclasses.

As with most first world problems, our error consists of projecting ourselves outward instead of solving our problems within. Unions have always been parasites, but it is taboo to say this, although as union power falls — but not dues and ties to organized crime and the Democrat party — that taboo is eroding at the edges. Trump is withdrawing the US from where it is causing problems worldwide.

Captain Obvious Versus Climate Scientology

Friday, May 26th, 2017

Science tells us the darndest things. Do you know what the overdetermining driver of terrestrial climate is? According to Yan et al., 2017, it could even be the sun. More important than even Bromine entrained in antarctic sea ice!
The smart guys explain below.

Morpho- and hydrodynamic variations seem to coincide with northern hemispheric solar forcing. The Medieval Warm Period (MWP) until about 1270 CE displays generally moist and warm climate conditions with minor fluctuations [stability], likely in response to variations in summer monsoon intensity. The three-partite period of the Little Ice Age (LIA), shows hydrologically unstable conditions between 1350 and 1530 CE with remarkably colder periods, assigned to a prolonged seasonal ice cover. … Seasonal freezing periods in excess of the average time of frozen water bodies also occurred in periods of the well-known grand solar minima…

So when the sun is hot, you better bring your gatorade. My gawd! We’ve just solved the mysteries of climate change. I want my Michael Mann grant. But wait, JPW. Could it have been vulcanism? Tejedor et al., 2017 kicked the tires on that jalopy and it wouldn’t crank.

The new IR2Tmax reconstruction is spatially representative for the Iberian Peninsula and captures the full range of past Iberian Range temperature variability. Reconstructed long-term temperature variations match reasonably
well with solar irradiance changes since warm and cold phases correspond with high and low solar activity, respectively. In addition, some annual temperature downturns coincide with volcanic eruptions with a 3-year lag.

So a big enough volcano can temporarily cool the climate. But only temporarily. Then, you know, it’s like part of a Solar System or something. And wouldn’t you know it?…There’s a Russian connection.

Astronomer Milutin Milankovitch developed the mathematical formulas upon which these orbital variations are based. He hypothesized that when some parts of the cyclic variations are combined and occur at the same time, they are responsible for major changes in the earth’s climate (even ice ages). Milankovitch estimated climatic fluctuations over the last 450,000 years and described cold and warm periods. Though he did his work in the first half of the 20th century, Milankovich’s results weren’t proven until the 1970s. A 1976 study, published in the journal Science examined deep-sea sediment cores and found that Milankovitch’s theory corresponded to periods of climate change. Indeed, ice ages had occurred when the earth was going through different stages of orbital variation.

And the Evil Erstwhile Warsaw Pact Hackers* weren’t done with The First Church of Climate Scientology quite yet. According to
Yavor Chapanov, Cyril Ron and Jan Vondrak, 2017, we learn the following.

The solar activity affects all surface geosystems, including weather and climate indices, winds, rains, snow covers, mean sea level, river streamflows and other hydrological cycles. The mean sea level and polar ice changes cause common variations of the principal moments of inertia and Earth rotation with decadal, centennial and millennial periods.

So what? Fair question. Here goes…

A good agreement exists between the decadal cycles of LOD, MSL, climate and solar indices whose periods are between 12-13, 14-16, 16-18 and 28-33 years. The new linear models of the decadal common Earth and solar cycles may help for long term forecasts of many global and local changes.

Thus the variability of the Sun and the Earth’s mechanical interactions therewith is a much better predictor of hot air than the concentrations of trace GHGs in the terrestrial atmosphere. That would imply the climate gets predominantly and overwhelmingly forced by the ultimate source of all energy that ever exists on Earth. Heavy dope Man, heavy-hitting dope.

So we now go to relevance. Why would this pee in the Cheerios of the Climate Scientology Cult of AGW? Well, one of the noteworthy “achievements” of Mann, et al. 1999, was the supposed erasure of The Medieval Warming Period. The essential claim was that Modern, industrial conditions introduced climate forcings that directly overwhelmed traditional astronomical forcings. Only by tuning down the signal of this prior climactic epoch, could Mann totally posit his “Hockey Stick” graph in a non-comedic setting. Hence, he was in direct contradiction to the current state of knowledge regarding Solar Physiscs.

So is Bill Nye the Science Guy on this stuff? Not if Dolph Lundgren has better STEM credentials. The Economist gives us a non-technical take on the last 15 years.

BETWEEN 1998 and 2013, the Earth’s surface temperature rose at a rate of 0.04°C a decade, far slower than the 0.18°C increase in the 1990s. Meanwhile, emissions of carbon dioxide (which would be expected to push temperatures up) rose uninterruptedly. This pause in warming has raised doubts in the public mind about climate change. A few sceptics say flatly that global warming has stopped. Others argue that scientists’ understanding of the climate is so flawed that their judgments about it cannot be accepted with any confidence.

I don’t believe that Climate Scientologists fail to comprehend the climate. I believe they’ve rolled to disbelieve like a Second Level Paladin who knows he can’t outrun the encroaching Black Pudding of hate truth. Why would this be religious dogma rather than scientific fair game? It specifically goes back to Mann’s hypothesis. On it’s surface, the Mann Hypothesis that industrial activity boosts the level of anthropogenic forcing beyond the order of magnitude of solar forcing is a fair place for the referee to draw a mark in the ground and the skeptics and the believers to pack down.

Then we get to the normative loading. For people who believe modern industrial capitalism is inherently malignant Mann, et al. 1999 is Christmas in August and has nothing to do with any scientific data whatsoever. For people seeking to redistribute** resources from more industrialized societies to subsidize third and fourth world dysfunction pits at taxpayer expense, this is an awesome fulcrum.

The Mann Hypothesis, like his tree ring measures necessary to the construction of The Hockey Stick Curve, are a proxy. The AGW Hypothesis has regrettably become a proxy for the question of whether morality demands the caring and sensitive person to hate The USA as a ethical duty. Swallow the Mann hypothesis like a fish hook, and you can get totally reeled into believing that America; like Carthage, must be destroyed. When you attempt to hijack scientific inquiry to posit the question you really want to ask without having to endure the potential social backlash of bluntly just asking it, Captain Obvious is never your friend. Perhaps one more thing we learn about the Solar System is that there will always be evil under the sun.

The Climate Change Resulting From Mass Immigration

Monday, May 22nd, 2017

The biggest problem with Modern American Democracy is that it puts power, resources and opportunity in the hands of vast numbers of people who have nothing to lose if these valuables are wasted and are generally immune from many of the negative externalities. This is taken to an extreme mathematical limit with the status of illegal immigrants in so-called sanctuary cities. Ann Coulter gets things about 75% right in her explanation of the problem below.

Mass Third World immigration is a triple whammy for the environment because:

1.Millions more people are tromping through our country;
2.The new people do not share Americans’ love of nature and cleanliness; and
3.We’re not allowed to criticize them.

All three of these statements by Ms. Coulter are factually accurate. Problem 1 would probably be survivable and two could be rapidly changed. The real nut of the problem here is point number three. You are never allowed to criticize these non-white people without being called ¡RACIST! The video below shows what Ann is discussing.

So the evidence is right Governor Jerry Brown’s face every day. There are too many people in California with no ties or loyalty to the place and therefore, they predictably trash the places they rent or squat in. The state is an ongoing environmental disaster. Yet the people trashing it also vote him into office so he has to fight environmental degradation in a way that leaves them blameless and that pins the tail on a different culprit. All bad things are caused by Global Warming which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Evil Republican Party.

The L A Times interviewed California Governor Brown about the states climate campaign with the results presented in an April 15, 2017 article entitled “I’m not giving up hope” which revealed his frustrations, concerns and views about lack of support among other states regarding California’s climate change program.

Reputable scientists with decades in the field don’t buy the politically expedient Climate Scientology.*

Governor Brown’s claim that higher temperatures are being caused by man made CO2 emissions is far from certain as addressed by climate scientist Dr. Judith Curry who documented flaws and failures of climate models claiming that man made CO2 emissions are driving global temperatures. Her study found that: “The climate model simulation results for the 21st century reported by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) do not include key elements of climate variability, and hence are not useful as projections for how the 21st century will actually evolve.”

And yet Gerry Brown’s eyes are not lying anywhere near as much as he is. The environment is being torn to pieces – by the very immigrants Gerry Brown finds it politically expedient to restock the population of his state with.

Writing in an environmental journal at New York University, Rosa P. Oakes described the “reprehensible” damage being done to “towering cactus, Joshua trees, flowering cactus varieties, colorful wildflowers and rock formations” by illegals. With accompanying photos, she noted that the immigrants’ litter included “abandoned vehicles … used needles, drug paraphernalia, plastic grocery bags, paper products, empty water containers, blankets, clothing, used disposable diapers, among other things.”

Maybe Ann Coulter is about 98% correct instead. We can have a low-skilled immigrant nation that is environmentally toxic or a well-bonded nation of common culture that loves the ground they stand on. People who are committed to a nation love its natural beauty and husband its natural resources with diligent responsibility. People who YOLO it over the border, send the money back home and then leave when they feel the welfare system isn’t being generous enough have no reason to care whether or not they crap on the streets.

Mass human migrations and the cultural disintegrations that predictably come with them are gargantuan anthropogenic environmental disasters. It would take an eruption of the Yellowstone Caldera, to pollute the environment of The American West more than large masses of humanity with no skin in the game and no concern for the communities they are just passing through. “Give a hoot! Don’t Pollute!” was more accurate than the old cartoon owl in the commercials ever realized.

The Sun Will Set and God Will Find His Own

Winter Is Coming

Climate experts are warning that the ocean circulation system – dubbed the Gulf Stream – that brings warm weather to the UK has been slowing down since 2004. Scientists believe this slowdown could have “consequences for the climates of eastern North America and Western Europe”

So the gulf stream is slowing down….

And the sun grows weary…

Research shows a natural cooling cycle that occurs every 230 years began in 2014 and will send temperatures plummeting even further by 2019. Scientists are also expecting a “huge reduction” in solar activity for 33 years between 2020 and 2053 that will cause thermometers to crash. Both cycles suggest Earth is entering a global cooling cycle that could have devastating consequences for global economy, human life and society as we know it.

And no, it isn’t Jerry Pournelle penning anti-establishmentarian sci-fi to tweak The Cult of AGW. An increasing bifurcation has beset the scientific community. Team Hockey Stick claims that there is no pause in AGW, and that only the Paris Climate Accord can stop Global Warming. Solar Physicists, survivalists and those who generally distrust anything said in the name of !SCIENCE! have a Climate Scientology Kult of their own. Winter, they warn us, is coming.

So what if it is? We get the die-off. The sorting. Demotism meets its vast and apocryphal reckoning. It will have to happen. Not when the great scientists predict it will. They are all but paid to be wrong. My favorite doomsayer warns us that none will no the hour or the day. And let not your hearts be troubled. Charles Darwin would tell you most of the ones to be culled pretty much had it coming anyway.

You cannot raise an entire infantile generation of over-protected snowflakes and not see them melted before the blow torch of unforgiving reality. Nature tends to sodomize the weak. Weak, dysgenic societies get enough of that action for Sodom, Gamorrah and all the other cities on the plain. As America continues its degeneration from an honorable Republic of civic gentlemen to a demotic democracy of mystery meat, we become ever more deserving of the coming reap. Greg Cochran blogs very slowly so that even this year’s college graddumates can get the gist…

Genetic trends can decrease IQ, and as long as we want the fruit of technological civilization, we have to care about that. There are three main ways in which IQ could decrease:

I. Selection could favor lower IQ within a group. How fast?

II. Demographic changes- groups with lower IQ could be immigrating, or differences in birth rates could mean that smarter groups are declining relative to other groups.

III. Relaxed selection. It looks as if a lot of the variance in IQ is due to rare deleterious variants generated by mutation. Over the long run, selection has eliminated those deleterious mutations as fast as they were generated (mutation-selection balance). Over the last few generations, selection has weakened: a smaller fraction of babies are dying.

We call our cubicles at work veal-fattening pens in partial jest. Yet most of what we experience in life does nothing to steel ourselves for burning in the crucible that challenges our genetic or mental fitness.

Now I can’t promise you The Sweet Meteor of Death on any date certain; even if you say “Please.” However, I can tell you that sucker will place home at some point. Fatter, dumber and with less lead in the national pencil is no way for any society to prepare for The El Guapo SHTF.

Perhaps the true measure of how badly we’ve managed our culture and society is the extent to which we’ve set ourselves up to be culled cometh the reaper. I urge you to prepare on some level for it to happen one day. Then maybe you, like the seasons, won’t fear the reaper…

Bill Nye, The Climate Scientology Guy

Wednesday, March 15th, 2017

It was President Dwight David Eisenhower who laid out why Science in Amerika is such a Potemkin enterprise. In his Farewell Address he describes what happens when government monopolizes science.

The prospect of domination of the nation’s scholars by Federal employment, project allocations, and the power of money is ever present and is gravely to be regarded. Yet, in holding scientific research and discovery in respect, as we should, we must also be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientific-technological elite.

So science doesn’t exist anymore to produce actual knowledge. It is now charged with providing political power and prolonged employment. It credentializes propaganda memes required by people who want certain political outcomes. In Good Old American fashion we’ve managed to self-inflict both equal and oppositional problems recognized by Eisenhower. This is accomplished via regulatory capture from a three-step process.

  1. Scientists discover a problem. A problem that demands further study. The bigger the problem and the more they can frighten people, the more money in grants and the more people are needed.
  2. Politicians see an opportunity to regulate. They got elected to solve problems after all and the scientists have given them one teed up like a golf shot.
  3. But then the science has to be regulated by someone with proper expertise. At this point the scientists who identified the problem in the first place now feel honor bound to implement the brilliant scientific solution.

Now a problem gets identified, politicians get mobilized and a solution gets applied, but never, never is the problem solved. This is accomplished by hyping the problem loudly, but never really articulating it clearly enough to put an absolute point on it. Meanwhile the problem is publicized loudly so that a worried public will demand political action without understanding the issue. This makes it a goldmine for the skilled propagandist.

If the issue is Global Warming, than the propagandist gold digger is none other than Bill Nye, The Former Engineering Guy. The issue was teed up, the demands for political action were loud, and only experts like Bill Nye, The Scientology Guy. That was until he tried sinking his teeth into Tucker Carlson…..

First he tried to pile on the hyperbole. Only a person suffering from cognitive dissonance could possibly doubt global warming. That’s coming from a guy belonging to not just one, but both major skeptic organizations.* So he forgives you your shortcomings because he loves you as a person. That notwithstanding, Bernie Sanders, and only Bernie Sanders can save us now from climate bedlam.

But then that dastardly Tucker Carlson decided to probe some of the holes in Mr. Nye’s rather ragged epistemic perimeter.

Bill Nye the not-really-Science Guy was on Tucker Carlson tonight. Tucker tried time after time to get Nye to say how much of the change was due to humans … and time after time, Nye refused to say what his opinion was. So Tucker got him to agree that the climate has always been changing. Then, in response to the question as to “what the climate would be like if humans weren’t involved right now”, Bill Nye said (according to my own transcription):

NYE: “The climate would be like it was in 1750. And the economics would be that you could not grow wine-worthy grapes in Britain as you can today because the climate is changing. The use of pesticides in the Midwest would not be increasing because the pests are showing up sooner and staying around longer. The forests in Wyoming would not be overwhelmed by pine bark beetles as it is because of climate change. That’s how the world would be different if it were not for humans”.

So, by his own attestation, Mr. Nye doesn’t know how much warming can be attributed to human industry. But he does know things would be better if we would just quit meddling. How the Romans grew grapes in the British Isles under Emperor Hadrian goes unexplained. Why the Vikings referred to Greenland as green or why having the Thames River freeze in the 1750s is an ideal aren’t addressed either.

We might as well be hearing from Bill Nye, the Barstool Guy. He’s attempting to ram through data-free, unsubstantiated opinion as if it were fact. Fact-free speculation flows cheaper than the Busch Beer at your typical Fishtown Dive. But if it gets funded, Eisenhower warned us that some disingenuous politico would describe it as science.

Yet perhaps all of this will come under the kosh. President Donald Trump is not The Sciencey Guy or The Sugar Daddy Guy. He is threatening the lifeblood for politically pandering research.

A source informed of the budget plans told E&E News Trump will push for a nearly $2 billion cut to EPA’s $8.1 billion budget. A source told Politico Trump also “proposed reducing EPA’s 15,000-strong workforce to 12,000, a level not seen since the mid-1980s.”

So the Science-Government Complex takes a cut. Perhaps this is part of Donald Trump’s efforts to drain one quadrant of the swamp. It would be a nice piece of climate change if science were to feature intense thirst for knowledge that would bore the incurious, inspire the legitimately intellectual and again force back the shadows of a Demon-Haunted World. Stop and ponder for just a moment why it took the threat of firing and debunking of so many super-scientists to give us the opportunity to Make Science Great Again.
