The problem is that Renaissance-era Individualism nourishes a lack of a healthy religion to butress an ethnic identity that fosters the kind of solidarity among ethnic kin that renders abuse & indolence taboo, like in Russia. A sense of local & pan-Germanic pride among N. Europeans is the solution.
