Very astute observation about the symbolism of the referenced issues. there's no way it would provoke that much visceral vitriol if it was just about "the issues", and is also why neither Constitutional nor any other arguments hold any sway with either side. it's total culture war and neither side will give any quarter. the only way for either to have what they would view as a quality life is to go their separate ways.
