Letting the individual decide what is offensive and scary: sure path to tyranny

This article isn’t unique:

Tuesday morning, Jordan was assigned to draw a scary Halloween mask in art class.

By the end of the day, Jordan was being told he could not return to Pooler Elementary School until he passed a psychological evaluation.

The teacher is afraid the drawing resembles gang symbolism.

First, if fifth graders are joining gangs, the game is already over.

Second, if we allow individuals to gain self-importance by finding things to be offended, worried, upset over and give them the ability to bring on a police/psychologist/media holocaust as a result, they’re going to do it.

Like kids pulling fire alarms.

For the attention.

And if many do that, society becomes a drama competition, and rapidly truth is lost.
